Microsoft Edge may not be a favorite browser for many users because of its backtracing to Internet Explorer but Microsoft trying to change this thing by introducing Chromium-based Edge, this Edge browser is built upon Chromium engine which you may see in Google’s Chrome Web browser. Microsoft is pioneering web browser from the early 21st Century as they heavily invested in Web browser Internet explorer so that Microsoft Windows users can use Internet Explorer as their native browser. But things started to getting change once Safari and Chrome took over Internet Explorer, Microsoft again introduces their next-gen browser Microsoft Edge in Windows 10 but it also starts to getting fail because of poor support of website and rendering issues.

Microsoft trying to change this thing by the introduction of the Chromium-based Edge browser which is still in beta phase but soon is available for a general user. Microsoft is now refreshing the logo for the Edge browser, as they try to remove their past from Internet Explorer days. Microsoft’s new logo was discovered as part of a new surfing mini-game hidden inside the latest Canary versions of Edge. It looks like a wave and includes a similar Fluent Design style to the company’s new Office icons. This new logo gives us a glimpse of surfing the web.

The logo spells out the letter e but still looks different as compared with Internet Explorer logo and looks a lot more moderns approach with Gradients and colorful design. Microsoft Edge new version also pushing its design to a more modern fluent design approach rather than previous frost design as the pace of changing interface is slow but decent.

The new icons of Edge is hidden by Microsoft as an Easter Egg hunt where Microsoft employees posted cryptic clues to a series of puzzles and images. Puzzle solvers even had to render an Edge icon as a 3D object, thanks to Obj model code that was hidden in an image. It all led to a series of words discovered in seven clues, which were then inputted into a Javascript function on Microsoft’s Edge Insider website. This revealed which words needed to be pulled from a video for the final instructions to discover the secret surfing game (edge://surf/) and the new logo when you complete it.

The secret edge surfing game is very similar to Microsoft’s earlier game SkiFree which was introduced in 1991. You can use WASD on the keyboard to navigate around to avoid obstacles or threatening octopus tentacles and picking up speed boost and shields on the way.

But the main question still arises that when will Microsoft gonna release the final version Edge browser. They release a beta version back in August, and the stable version appeared on the web recently. Microsoft Chromium-based Edge will be available on Windows 10 and macOS but the release date is still in question. Microsoft is holding the Ignite event in Orlando next week which we could believe that Microsoft will give any hint of a release date.
