So, you bought a brand-new Xiaomi phone, and I bet you are all thrilled and excited about it. And I am sure you can’t wait to take it out for a spin. However, before you do so, there are a couple of things that you should make right away. Not only will it improve your overall phone experience, but it’ll also help you to be more productive in the longer run.
So, what are we waiting for? Let’s get started!
1. Disable the annoying Ad’s
Ads are perhaps one of the most annoying things about any
Xiaomi phone, other than the Redmi K20 series. While the company claims that
it’s easy to disable ads, the reality is that it’s not that simple at all. The
main issue is that Xiaomi not only pushes system-wide ads, but it also pushes
ads through its stock apps.
Thankfully, it’s not an irreversible process. You’ll be able
to get rid of all the ads in no time if you just follow the steps below.
To do so, head over to Settings > Additional Settings >Authorization and revocation.
Next, find MSA in the list and then click on the toggle next
to it.
Next, wait for 10 seconds and then tap on Revoke in the
pop-up. You’ll see that revoking authorization for MSA will reduce the number
of ads significantly on your phone. Now that the system-wide ads are settled,
it’s time to disable the advertising identifier. Disabling that stops Xiaomi
from pushing tailored ads.
To do so, head over to the Additional Settings > Privacy, and disable the switch for the User Experience Program.
2. Change the stock MIUI launcher
Do you like the stock launcher? I am not a big fan of
placing all my apps on the home screen. Plus, it’s cumbersome to search for a
particular app. Hence, whenever I switch to a Xiaomi phone, the first thing I
do after the setup is to install a third-party launcher. The Android fan in you
must already know that there’s no dearth of amazing third-party launchers out
there. And needless to say, each of them has something different to offer.
If you’re looking for a stock Android look, you can give the Lawnchair Launcher a shot. Or else, you can check out the Nova or Action Launcher if you want a ton of customization options. And if you ask me, even Xiaomi’s Poco Launcher 2.0 is not bad.
You can sort and organize the apps as per their color or
function, and the customization features do not disappoint.
3. Remove all the bloatware
Bloatware and phones go hand in hand. And I doubt this will
change anytime soon. Xiaomi devices are known to feature plenty of
pre-installed apps. And the odds are that you’ll probably never use them.
Hence, the only practical solution is to get rid of them right away.
4. Enable navigation Gestures
How To Enable Full-Screen Gestures On Xiaomi’s Smartphone
Navigation gestures are cool. They are super cool. And the best part is that you can go about your navigation without losing out on precious screen space.
To enable navigation gestures, go to Settings and scroll down until you see System & Device. Now, tap on Full Screen Display and select Full Screen Gestures. You can also go through the mini-guide on how to use these navigation gestures.
Honestly, it’s quite simple. A swipe up gets you the home
screen. To open the Overview selection menu, swipe up and hold. To go back,
swipe inwards. That’s all. Simple, see.
5. Tweak the quick settings panel
Use Quick Setting Like A Pro
The best part of Xiaomi phones is that most of the things are customizable as per your preferences, and the Quick Settings menu is no different. You can completely customize it to show the buttons that you use frequently. Yep, you read that right. Open the Quick Settings menu and tap on the Edit button, as shown in the screenshot below.
Next, add the options you want (and remove the rest). To do so,
hold and drag them to the top half. Simple, isn’t it?
6. Find your phone
Enable Find Device To Track Your Device
Find Your Phone should be one of the first settings that you
should check. As suggestive of its name, the Mi Phone Finder helps you find
your phone if you lose it. To do so, jump over to Settings Mi Account. Once you
have located it, log in with your Xiaomi account. Once done, tap on Mi Cloud
and then turn the switch next to Find Device, and that’s about it.
The next time you misplace your phone, head over to the Mi
Cloud website from your PC, sign in with the same Mi account, and find your
registered device. Yeah, you can thank me later.
Let your experience Soar!
So, these were some of the first things that you should
change on your new Xiaomi phone. As we mentioned above, these minor changes
enhance your phone experience by several folds.
Microsoft AI Cortana may not seem to get frequent updates as compared with Alexa or Google Assistant but Microsoft keeps putting their focus make Cortana intelligence more than full filling user voice inputs needs. Microsoft Cortana already giving smarts suggestions inside Microsoft Edge when a user selects the text or performs certain actions, Cortana Scheduling action still better as compared with other assistants as when you want to send an email at a certain time and certain day Cortana does easily without any issue. Microsoft also panning to add Cortana intelligence in their Office 365 apps so the user can get assistant to keep track of their work and seamlessly reminds the user what should they focus on a certain time of the day.
This time Microsoft adding voice options (including a male voice for the first time) as well as an integration with the Outlook app on iOS, according to a leaked video posted by Twitter user @h0x0d. New feature should also made its entrance with update to Cortana which coming later this year.
Outlook adding a new feature like “Play My Emails” which gives us hint for adding voice option and other features. This feature will give a brief of your new mail which read by Cortana. Users can also perform an action according to mail without have to touch the device.
Inside the leaked video, there is a “masculine” voice for the smart assistant, which gives us a clear hint that Cortana is getting a new voice. Unfortunately, the video doesn’t actually have any audio of what the new voice sounds like, so we’ll have to wait for Microsoft to formally release the feature.
Outlook in Windows device feature a “Briefing” mode which automatically generates daily synopsis of your mail and scheduling tools are present inside the app which help user to actively perform action according to their needs.
Microsoft is trying to put more emphasis on Cortana update rather than before to match competition with other assistants.
Mi A3 : New Android One Beast From The House Of Xiaomi
As we all know that the Mi A3 is obviously the successor of the Mi A2 which did not really take off like the Mi A1 did. Now on its third iteration, the Mi A3 is expected to blow us away with some of its awesome specs that we can’t deny that its really mind blowing. Take note that this phone is exactly the same as the Xiaomi CC9e which we know will only be sold within China only as of press time.
The Mi A3 sports the same outside appearance with the Mi CC9e, in fact it is exactly the same as the CC9e except for the LTE bands that it supports. Otherwise, everything else is just carbon copy. With a screen size of 6.088 versus a 6.39 from the CC9, the A3 feels solid on the hand and best is that it can perform using one hand. It sports the same icy effect on the back of the phone like that from the Glacier Blue of the Mi 9T and the waterdrop notch was carried over from the Mi 9 flagship. They have only 3 color for the A3 which is the pearl white, blue and gray. The glass protection is mentioned to be Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for both front and back, just as same as the Redmi Note 7.
Stunning AMOLED Display
6.22 Inches HD+ Display
Display and Audio
We were expecting a lot from the display side as we know that its sporting a Samsung AMOLED, the this is already a norm for Mi Series since the Mi 8. The Full HD display did blow me away with its awesome rendering of photos and videos, and probably one thing that is not good with AMOLED is the burn in problems like those on the Samsung Galaxy Flagship Series that we have heard about.
After holding the Mi 9T with the popup camera and notch less display, we felt that we did took a step backward as we went back to the teardrop notch display similar to the Mi 9 flagship. We watched several movies and I can say it’s pretty crisp but there was a little drawback in watching 1080p movies as this is only HD+ which means it supports only up to 720p quality movies.
The sound was excellent, especially the loudspeaker it was quite loud. Even it is not stereo sounds, but playing games are pretty solid, the output of the sounds is quite loud but the Mi 9T has performed better than this one. Bluetooth connectivity on my Redmi Air Dots headset is also no problem on this unit. Upon transferring files from Mi 9T, Mi Drop was also seamless. Playing games like PUBG was not a problem the we cannot access the highest definition, but it’s not really much of a problem as we can use GFX Tool to fix this.
AnTuTu Benchmark Score Of Snapdragon 665
Snapdragon 665
Xiaomi did took a slight step forward improving from SD 660 to the SD 665 from Mi A2 to the Mi A3 which is also the exact unit as the Mi CC9e. Honestly there was not much changes on this SoC but the downgrade of 2.2Ghz down to 2.0Ghz might mean a lot for some people. The GPU did get a lot better as well as the AI Camera that’s for sure.
The SD 665 is powered together with the Adreno 610, and of course an ample serving of 4GB of RAM, it will give you an above average performance in both multitasking and gaming category, running PUBG and NBA2k19 was not really a problem its just that we cannot set it to the maximum graphic setting. the best midrange experiences up to date.
AnTuTu benchmark gave it a 141253 point out of the box which is the expected score for this processor. This score is almost the same as the one from the Mi CC9e.
Camera Setting
Camera
The Mi A3 series probably has the Best Selfie Camera among all the Mi A series phones that I ever held, the front shooter is not only just another 32MP camera, but it has probably one of the most advanced selfie cameras I have ever seen. Coupled with the Sony IMX 586 48MP camera at the back, this camera should capture awesome photos wherever you go. Let’s check out the specs and of course my favorite, the sample shots!
Some Sample Shots Taken On Mi A3
Battery and Benchmark:
The Mi A3 supports the Qualcomm Quick charge 3.0 and up to 18W of speed. We charged the Mi A3 and it took in 7V 2.2 Amperes based on our testing using the 18W charger and cable. We charged the phone from 18% to 100% in 1 hour and 57 minutes which was a little off from my expected 1 hour 30 minutes for a 4030 mAh capacity phone. We recorded a 15 hour and 34-minute SOT endurance test under normal usage using the PC Mark Battery Stress Test. If these statistics are true on a normal daily use, then it’s really a good sign for the said smartphone, and based on my daily usage for several days, the battery almost last me a day without hitting the charging dock.
Here is a brief unboxing from Xiaomi
Aware Opinion
The Mi A3 for me is probably one of the easiest to handle phone I had ever handled, not that I haven’t handled the likes of the Redmi 7 which is almost the same size, but this one I can say that it has outperformed any rivals of its level. The camera was the superb part as well as the SD 665 was able to handle all the multitasking I threw at it. Though it’s just having a little problem handling Mobile Legends under high frame rate, but not everyone is a gamer, right? If you are in the market looking for the best budget 6 incher phone with great camera and battery life, have no doubt that this is definitely the phone just for you! The good side is that its vanilla android therefore you can customize it up to your needs, and it’s pretty clean as well. Check it out!

Directly select the sounds of nature to write a melody. Seven days a week, different elements, different dynamic alarm will gently wake you up. A complete in-depth comparison between two generation of Android One devices fro the house of Xiaomi
Following the success of Mi A2 last year, Xiaomi has officially announced the new member of the world’s most popular Android One series – Mi A3. You had already known about its arresting specs; those have really ended up meeting our expectations. Today, let’s have a quick roundup on how the next-generation Mi A3 differs from its predecessor. Trust me, it’ll clear your doubts about the new Android One device from Xiaomi if you have any.
Dimensions
The dimensions of the next-generation Mi A3 are slightly less than Mi A2’s. Mi A3 has 153.48mm height and 71.85mm width, while, on the other side, Mi A2 has 158.7mm height and 75.4mm width. But the lesser bezel gives Mi A3 more space for display, unlike the former one.

On the other hand, Mi A2 features a 5.99″ FHD+ 18:9 full-screen display; it has a contrast ratio of 1500:1 and a pixel resolution of 2160 × 1080 (403 ppi pixel density). On the front, both have Corning® Gorilla™ Glass 5 and 2.5D curved glass which protect those against accidental drops.
Camera

When it comes to the camera, Mi A3 unquestionably has a huge leap over Mi A2. On rear and front, the new Android One device has an AI 48MP + 8MP + 2MP triple camera setup and a 32MP AI selfie camera, respectively.
Meanwhile, Mi A2 highlights a dual 20MP + 12MP camera setup on the rear and a 20MP selfie camera, on front. Being backed by Xiaomi’s advanced AI and handy camera features on both cameras, Mi A3 lets you take better photos than ever before, in every state.
Processor
Snapdragon 665 SoC when coupled with Google’s Android One Hype-Up The Performance Section
Mi A3 is powered by Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 665, while, Mi A2 comes packed with Snapdragon™ 660. Due to the differences between 11nm and 14nm manufacturing process, Mi A3 is capable of producing more power-efficiency performance than Mi A2. Besides, Mi A3’s Adreno™ 610 GPU clearly has an upper hand over Mi A2’s Adreno™ 512 – only for this reason, #PhotosWithoutLimits can deliver richer, smoother gaming experience. What’s more, Snapdragon™ 665 easily delivers 2x faster AI experiences than the predecessor.
Battery
The 4030mAh Battery Will Never Let You Down
Once again, let’s experience a huge leap over Mi A2, with Mi A3. Mi A3 has a massive 4030mAh battery which offers a standby time of 20 days, 30 hours of call time and 13 hours of gaming, while on the other hand, the precursor is fueled by 3010mAh battery.
Here Is The Complete Video Of Mi A3 Launch Event Source-Xiaomi India
Aware Opinion
It is true that with the launch of Mi A3, we got to see so many upgrades over Mi A2 – be it design, fingerprint sensor or anything else. On Mi A2, we had removed the headphone jack, but due to the increasing demand, They have brought3.5mm jack back on Mi A3, again. Mi A3 offers a seamlessly-curved 3D rear design for impeccable hand feel; the ultra-thin glass design is for having a premium finish. Unlike Mi A2, the new giant of Android One also features an in-screen 7th generation super-fast fingerprint sensor.
Microsoft Surface Pro X announced by Microsoft during their Surface event in the event they also introduce Windows 10X operating system along with the hardware. Windows 10X is a new approach toward Windows 10 as this OS will be focus on ARM chipset which will put more emphasis on tablets rather than Laptops or Desktop. Microsoft will also introduce this operating system into their upcoming Surface Duo device, but Windows 10X is not ready yet as Microsoft is not porting Windows 10 directly into Windows 10X as they try to create awareness among developer to create application specifically for Windows 10X which will highly optimize for Tablet and Foldable experience.
A leaked internal Microsoft documentation has revealed new details around Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 10X operating system announced earlier this month for foldable PCs. The documentation shows minor details around some of the user experience changes and enhancements you can expect to see on Windows 10X and also confirms that it will support Tablet, Laptop, and Foldable. Microsoft trying to change the basic interfacing of Windows 10 and giving it more proper looks to match with today’s design standards. They are preparing documentation for the developer so that they will create all the experience that Microsoft wants in their next operating system.
The internal documentation also reveals the name of the new start menu, which Microsoft is now calling the “Launcher” on Windows 10X: This is similar language to what’s found on Android. The new launcher features a search bar that searches the device locally as well as in the cloud such as on OneDrive. Microsoft is trying to make the experience of Windows 10X more seamless as compared with Windows 10. The start menu also includes both Web apps as well as local apps. This gives us a hint that the operating system is also focused on Web apps.
Action Center and Quick Actions also implemented a new design pattern which made it more intuitive to use and easy to understand by the user. The notification also looks more distinct and action also helps the user to easily perform the action to certain apps. The taskbar is also configurable, with the user being able to have a centered taskbar like we’ve seen so far from a left-aligned taskbar the same as Windows 10 it may be possible in Tablet more Microsoft will provide full-screen startup screen experience which Microsoft wants to remove from Windows 10.
Windows 10 Login Screen Leaks
In the documentation, it also reveals that Microsoft also updates its own apps to match the whole experience for Windows 10X. They also include the integration of its phone companion application to merge with the Windows 10X experience and it is also expected that Microsoft will take the bar furthermore. As recent updates like call porting on Windows 10 and Message response on the device if Microsoft convinced Android to merge their experience with Windows, they both made a seamless experience like Apple’s iOS and macOS.
The documentation makes a brief mention of a new modern File Explorer, something we’ve known about as being in the works for Windows Core OS devices for some time. There is no leak image of the new File Explorer have been leaked yet, this documentation is the first time we’ve seen it confirmed via Microsoft itself. Microsoft also trying to improve the login experience of the device with a new Login screen.
Overall there is so much detail to notice about these leaks and more to expect with Windows 10X. But Windows 10X still unclear in many aspects as What Microsoft is trying to implement in Windows 10X which can’t be implemented in Windows 10 and What will it’s future. Windows 10X will arrive first on Surface Pro X next year and afterward will available for the Foldable Surface Neo device.
Apple Watch Series 5 makes Apple reach on the top spot as it made all the requested features from its user as the latest iteration of always-on display and compass makes the watch complete companion like iPhone. One of the interesting technology of Apple Watch Series 5 it’s LTPO display which makes always-on display possible. It is expected that the future iPhone will adopt this technology to have an always-on display which made the iPhone more intuitive to use.
LTPO display makes interesting use of power as when the device is active or while the user is using its refresh rate fire up to 60Hz and when the device in idle state display refresh rates reached to as slow as 1Hz. This amazing controlling of refresh rates made possible of always-on display on and it does not make a dent to the battery life of the device.
LTPO or low-temperature polycrystalline oxide has an Oxide TFT structure that uses up to 15 percent less power than LTPS or low-temperature polysilicon, the backplane technology that Apple currently uses. This display could contribute better battery life.
A report from leaker Apple is moving to more widely apply LTPO panels to its iPhones. This means it needs to find ways to work together with Samsung Display, which is holding its own in terms of both technical prowess and production capacity in the small and mid-sized OLED sector.
The always-on display is not new to the market as Android manufactures has already been shipping a smartphone with this technology and it is a most convenient feature as when a notification arrives you can easily glimpse of notification without even to power the device. Next-generation of iPhone is expected to have this feature on the device which makes the experience more intuitive. Apple also trying to bring micro-LED to the mainstream as they try to eliminate LEDs from their other products.
Google now making more distinction between its hardware, as Google now owns Nest so they are changing the names of products from Nest side as Google Nest. Under new naming, Google has announced a new product like Nest Wi-Fi and Point also.
