Samsung’s Artificial Human

One of the most curious things from Samsung is ‘Artificial Human’, and till now there is very little detail is available about this but the general indication is towards some type of “digital avatar” technology, a realistic CGI human with that users can interact. If we talk about uses of this technology then it could be related to entertainment purposes, business, customer services and like that other things.

Samsung is expecting to announce the availability of the Wall TV that is a modular Micro LED format and it was already presented at CES 2019. Along with this, it is also suspected that Samsung will use the CES 2020 for 8K TVs (one will possibly have no bezels). Updates for 4K can also be expected. Intel

Intel’s conference will be held on Monday and in that company will reveal its latest processors. Samsung Introduced S10 Lite, Flagship With A Twist

When the whole world was looking forward to CES 2020 Samsung had planned something else for there consumers and out of nowhere introduced new devices in their flagship series known as ‘S10 lite‘ in their ‘Galaxy S-series’ and ‘Note 10 Lite’ in their ‘Note series’. There offers a lower flagship experience at a cost less than its parent devices. To know more about this ‘Flagship With A Twist’, buckle up and keep reading till the end.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite comes out to be a downgraded version of the Samsung Galaxy S10 series. It offers specifications that somewhat relates to some flagship devices of previous year. A spokesperson from the brand said that the reason behind the move of introducing a lighter version of their flagship series is to bring the galaxy to more peoples. But from a consumer perspective, I don’t find this device relevant anywhere as we already got a lighter version Galaxy S-Series i.e. Galaxy S10e then is no point introducing a lighter version of a previous year flagship series in a new decade. I don’t get the point that why a user will go for a lighter flagship whose lighter version is already available in the market.

Let’s start with the Specification of Galaxy S10 Lite

Design

S10 Lite brings a lot of design changes as compared to its master devices. It spots a glass back design with some ravishing pattern design that makes the device a stunner in the first look. It comes with an unusual camera bump that looks quite unorthodox while keeping in mind Samsung’s design ideology. The camera setups at rear packs a set of triple camera and LED flashlight in a rectangular camera hosing that is placed in the upper left corner of the device. This design varies completely from its master generation as all the devices from the previous year’s flagship series i.e. Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ all of these devices were built with a horizontal camera setup in the middle of the devices. This could be taken as an indication that Samsung is ready to drop its old orthodox design methodology and bring some changes in their upcoming devices.

Processor Used In S10 Lite — Snapdragon 855 SoC

Performance

When we talk about a flagship, we consider their performance to be blazing fast and butter-smooth equipped with latest processor and top of the line hardware but this is not the case with S10 Lite as it comes equipped with a flagship processor from the first half of the previous year i.e. ‘Snapdragon 855 SoC’ in my opinion if a brand is introducing any iteration in their flagship device whether it is a lighter or a heavier version there main motive should rely on the performance. As from a consumer’s point of view, if one is buying a lighter version of a flagship, he expects that he will be getting performance similar to the master version. Samsung should have provided Snapdragon 855+ processor in order to satisfy the needs of its consumer but Snapdragon 855 is not a low-grade chipset it can provide you decent experience as well.

Display

When it comes to displays Samsung is the undisputed master as the quality of their screen are amazing no matter you are using their flagship device or their mid-range device the experience is super smooth and fluidic all thanks to Samsung’s advance screen technology. S10 lite comes with an 6.7 inches Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a punch hole in the center of the screen that is quite smaller as compared to its master device. Devices launched in ‘Galaxy S- Series’ previous year were equipped with a punch hole in the top right corner of the screen that seems more pleasing and relevant to me as compared to a hole in middle of the screen.

There can be seen a huge improvement when it comes to the camera department. S10 lite is the first device in the flagship series of Samsung that has crossed the mark of the 12MP camera sensor. S10 lite packs an 48MP primary camera sensor with an aperture of F2.0 and comes with the functionality of ‘Super Steady OIS’ that will help you record videos with worrying about any lateral movement. The second camera in the triple rear camera setup is an 12MP Ultra-Wide camera that can capture objects within an astounding field of view range of 123^owith an aperture of F2.2 that comes handy when you have to take some wide-angle shots to capture a large area under a small frame. Last but not least comes to a 5MP macro lens that comes with an aperture of F2.4 and help you take some stunning shots of macro objects.

Verdict

Samsung S10 Lite turns out to be an addition in the Samsung’s flagship series of previous year but with a twist. We can see some unorthodox change in this device that may be taken as a hit that Samsung is now ready to change its ideology related to design and going to showcase some new design. As it turns out that S10 Lite is a camera centric addition in the flagship Galaxy Series and introduces with first ever 48MP in any of the Samsung’s flagship devices. In my opinion Samsung has particularly focused on the single aspect instead of focusing on the overall device. If we could ignore the aspect of performance than Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite is a great device to have specially if you are looking for a device that can give an astounding pictures and videos. It is expected to launch in India very soon but no date has been specified for the launch however we could expect it to come around a price tag of Rs. 30,000 (approx $400) to compete with several OnePlus devices.

New LG OLED Display At CES 2020

LG has always been promising in bringing a challenging technology with its displays. Last year rollable OLED TV R was launched that was a very big hit. This time new LG OLED Display is going to launch at the mega event CES 2020 in Las Vegas. According to LG, the new screens i.e OLEDs are designed to cover walls of airplanes and as quoted “enabling people to feel more openness in the narrow space of an enclosed cabin”.

New LG OLED Display Will Be 40% Transparent

With the host of new LG OLED displays, comes a 55 inches of Full HD transparent OLED display with 40% transparency (will be used as a partition in the cabin), a 65 inches Ultra HD Bendable OLED display (can be controlled to bend at either end), a 13.3 inches Plastic OLED tablet will be coming up.

Other purposes and features for this transparent, plastic and rollable OLEDs will be showcased for use in vehicles and offices. Another 48 inches traditional OLED will also be showing off and this will be a first one from LG in the pipeline of earlier released 55, 65, 77 and 88 inches of such traditional displays.

According to the brand, LG will also have updates for its Ultrathin Wallpaper OLEDs, which includes an 88 inches 8K Cinematic sound OLED display with an 11.2 channel sound system. These OLEDs will be generating sound directly from the display itself. The roll down displays will moreover function like a projector, dropping down from the ceiling as a fully functional display. Samsung GalaxyBook Flex Alpha Cheapest Notebook at $830 Launched at CES 2020

Samsung is truly stepping up its laptop game in 2020 by bringing new laptops to its lineup. The Samsung Galaxy Flex Alpha is a 2-in-1 13-inch Notebook that is thin, light and price start from $830 when it will retail in the first half of 2020. Samsung also adds up more to their Galaxy Book lineup by the introduction of more-premium Galaxy Book Ion and Flex, meanwhile, are expected to cost upwards of $1,100 and $1,400 respectively.

Samsung Galaxy Flex and Ion are the first sets of the laptop to feature Samsung’s QLED screen. This new QLED screen pretty competitive in this range of notebook as we have seen many OLED options from other giants like Dell or Lenovo, but QLED may bring more competition to the market. The display becomes quite bright into “Outdoor Mode” up to 600 nits. The Flex Alpha offers the same technology, meets the same brightness measurement and runs at full HD — just like the more-premium machines.

Samsung also tries to keep these laptop lightest as possible as the laptop weighs about 1.19kg (about 2.6 pounds). The Samsung Galaxy Flex comes in at 1.1kg (or 1.5kg for the 15-inch variant) while the Book Ion starts at 0.9 kg (1.1 kg for the 15-inch unit). The new notebook’s profile of 13.9mm is just a hair thicker than the other two (12.9mm) 13-inch models, which shouldn’t be very noticeable. This lightness will add more portability to the device and the user will carry a notebook pretty easily as possible.

The Flex Alpha features a Biometric Fingerprint sensor on the keyboard for convenient logins. The Flex and Ion also feature the same fingerprint sensor. The port option of the device is pretty decent as it has 2 USB 3.0, 1 USB-C, an HDMI Port, a Headphone Jack, and a microSD card reader. It although 2020 but we haven’t seen USB Type-A go away but Dell has recently launched their Dell XPS 13 which removes Type A Port altogether.

On the power side, Samsung has to do some sacrifice to meet the price point as the device features a smaller 54Whr battery compared to the 69.7Whr batter on the older laptops.

In terms of graphics Flex Alpha also made some significant compromises as it features Intel UHD GPU option rather than Iris Pro or Nvidia MX 250 GPU you can choose on Flex and Ion. While Performance of the device will be good as it features Intel 10th Gen CPU (unknown, but likely Comet Lake). Wi-Fi 6 also available into the device due to Intel 10th Gen CPU. Storage options on the device pretty minimal as Flex Alpha maxes out at 512 GB as the Flex and Ion could support up to 1TB of SSD. Flex Alpha memory also supports up to 12GB which is smaller as compared to 16GB on the older pair.

Samsung hasn’t given a more specific availability window than “the first half of 2020,” there seems to be plenty of time before you have to decide which of the QLED Galaxy Books you want to get.

Samsung Galaxy Flex Alpha might not be confused with Galaxy Book S, by the way, which will finally be releasing in the US in the first quarter of 2020. The Flex Alpha might bring more significant competition in the market due to its display technology and price. But only its first impression will tell us more about the device.

Dell New XPS 13 With Intel’s 10th Gen CPU At CES 2020

CES 2020 still not kick off yet but companies are trying to tease their product during the event, Dell launches its flagship lineup Dell XPS 13 2020 at CES. Last year Dell already launch their XPS 13 2-in-1 laptop which already brings Intel 10th Gen. CPU, but strangely they try to bring an even thinner screen bezel than its clamshell sibling. But one of the drawbacks of this device as compared with XPS 13 2-in-1 is that it will not fold around.

Feature of Dell XPS 13 2020

XPS 13 has now screen to body ratio of 91.5 percent which is even higher as compared with HP’s latest Spectre X360. This makes the screen looks amazing and removes the days of the old distracting bezel. The 13.4-inch Display accounts 16:10 aspect ratio gives you a bit more workspace which is good for cinematic view and a scenario like Photo Editing or Video Editing. Dell gives the option of 1080p and 4K, except this time they’re a bit taller to account for the taller size, and all of the display support HDR and Dolby Vision.

The new XPS 13 keyboard brings better key travel so the user can type comfortably, now the keyboard reaches both edges of the machine with 9 percent larger keycaps and a 17 percent larger touchpad. This provides better ergonomics to the device and helps the user to work easily.

Power inside the XPS 13 is from the house of Intel which features the latest 10th Gen CPU, Dell gives the option from Core i3 to Quad-Core i7-1065G7 and up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM. GPU Dell tries to bend toward Intel in house GPUS’s Iris Plus Graphics which puts a huge leap in terms of integrated graphics. As promised from Intel these Iris Plus GPUs are capable of handling 3D rendering, smooth gameplay at a lower setting and also handle some professional applications like AutoCAD, etc.

Due to smaller size, the XPS 13 won’t able to match its sibling performance which feature Intel’s six-core 10th gen Chips. This keeps user restricted if they wanted a high-performance laptop as they get to end up to buy XPS 13 2-in-1 2019 model. As XPS 13 2-in-1 feature better performance as it has Intel’s 10th gen six-core i7 CPU which provide really good performance out of the box.

Luckily, Dell has avoided the temptation of completely cutting out ports, but only just. You get two Thunderbolt 3 ports, a Micro SD and a headphone jack, which means you should be able to use this laptop for plenty of things without needing an adapter. But the USB-A devices will not be able to connect without any adapter, as this looks like Industry is killing some legacy port for moving forward. Thunderbolt 3 will provide more power from its side as it can able to provide 100w power which will be enough to plug and play with external GPU’s and other power devices.

XPS 13 also comes with an option of Linux version of Ubuntu which features in XPS 13 developer edition. That machine is the 10th generation of Dell’s “Project Sputnik” project, which is focused on delivering a powerful notebook aimed at developers.

The revamped XPS 13 2020 will be available on January 7th, starting at $999 for Core i3 with 256GB SSD and 4GB RAM while the price of the top-notch version is still not available. The developer edition will arrive later on February 4th starting at $1,200. It will important to see the more powerful device from Dell in the later future as is has been expected 15-inch version of XPS which will feature more power like Intel’s 10th gen CPU with a six-core i7 CPU along with an option of discrete GPU most probably AMD’s.

Apple and Qualcomm could launch 5G iPhone in 2020 which may be called as iPhone 12 5G, as their rivalry finally ends as it results in compromise but the most important outcome from this result is the expectation of 5G iPhone in 2020. Apple dumped Intel for their 5G pursuit as they trying to build their own 5G chipset which they could feature in iPhone 2021 or 2022, but waiting for more years means Apple might lose competition in the market so it is expected that iPhone 2020 will feature 5G.

iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro model perform fairly well for Apple but 2020 might be the year of 5G so it is expected that Apple might focus for 2020 rather than pulling again 4G smartphone. As it has been expected that Apple could launch only 2 smartphones with 4G which might be turned as a successor of iPhone SE, as it may be called as iPhone 9. Apple tries to capture the regime of smartphones the same as they capture the recent tablet market with iPad models which could be available at any cost user want, which made choosing products more easier for the user.

Apple and Qualcomm Partnership start to beginning

Apple is working with Qualcomm to produce a 5G smartphone and both of them have a plan to launch 5G smartphones as early as possible. At Qualcomm Tech Summit that held on a few weeks back, Qualcomm President Cristiano Amon said that revealed the same. This partnership of Apple and Qualcomm seems pretty good as they soon forgot their rivalry and start working with each other within months.

5G iPhone in 2020 coming soon

It seems that to release the 5G smartphone on time is one of the main goals of Qualcomm with Apple and that will be good for the customers who are waiting for Apple’s 5G iPhone. Few leaks and rumors are there that suggest 5G iPhone will be launch in 2020. In this row of rumors, Amon said that “priority number one of this relationship with Apple is how to launch their phone as fast as we can. That’s the priority”.

Amon explained why the company is trying to launch that smartphone on time, according to him the first 5G smartphone by Apple will use Qualcomm modem, but it is possible that it might not include all of Qualcomm’s RF front end. The important part of boosting the signal from a different network is an RF front end that includes the circuitry between antennae and receives. Qualcomm also termed its latest Snapdragon modem chip as a “modem-RF system”, and somewhere it suggests that RF front end components which are made by Qualcomm will provide the best signal.

Apart from Qualcomm modem, Apple possibly will use its own technology and components in its upcoming 5G iPhone in 2020. Along with this, it is also important to note that Apple may be in need to use Qualcomm millimeter-wave antenna modules because Apple manufactures the component that is compatible with Verizon and AT&T’s 5G network. Rumors are there that indicates Apple will launch five models of iPhone in 2020 but only one high-end model will support the 5G configuration while rest will support the only 4G.

In this year Apple has resolved all its disputes with that results will be in Qualcomm modems in upcoming iPhone modems. Intel also manufactures the modem for Apple’s iPhone but this time Intel was not able to fulfill Apple’s demand and as a result, Apple comes with the agreement with Qualcomm. This Apple and Qualcomm partnership might be more interesting to see in the future. It might be not clear today as to how long will their partnership will go on.
