What is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon SoC?: You may hear about Snapdragon Processor, while it may happen you’ll use the Snapdragon device while reading this article. Snapdragon Processor is a Product like Qualcomm, and the Snapdragon processor is made for Smartphones, Tablets, and SmartWatch. While Snapdragon is an SoC (System on a chip) semiconductor products designed by Qualcomm.

Snapdragon uses ARM-based Architecture and a simple SoC which includes CPU (Central Processing Unit), GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), Wireless Modem and other support of Hardware like GPS, Camera, Gesture Recognition, Biometric Recognition, Measuring Tool and many other. Snapdragon Processor is found in smartphones of Android, Microsoft, Smartwatch of Android, they are also used in Netbook and various other devices.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Processor Series Function And Features

The first Snapdragon Product was made way back in November 2007 when the Smartphone industry-first flourish. Apple introduces its iPhone which uses an SoC which controls whole device function. Snapdragon had made a 1 GHz processor for mobile which is way more powerful as compared to that time SoCs. While as the industry flourish Snapdragon has seen many improvements and many computer-based codes are ported into the mobile device while some new code was also made specifically for a mobile device which made all those development we see now.

Qualcomm introduces Krait microprocessor architecture in 2011 which is their second-gen processor. As these processors are capable of having multiple cores and each core has the power to adjust themselves.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon SoC Series And Its Features:

In 2013 at CES, Qualcomm introduces a product lineup that still we see. So what are Product lineup let know them The current Snapdragon naming scheme was implemented after the Snapdragon 800 family was announced at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show; prior models were renamed to the 200, 400 or 600 series. The 400 family is entry-level, the 600 is mass-market or mid-range, and 800 family is for high-end phones.

Snapdragon 200 Series:

Snapdragon 200 is entry level Processor lineup as this processor made from 28nm Process which made this SoC to absorb less power and perform efficiently. This lineup starts with the 1GHz processor to dual or quad-core model as the model available in the different model numbers. Some Microsoft Smartphones also uses this Soc as they are powerful and efficient. While recently there is 212 Snapdragon is running which feature F-HD playback and record, LTE Bands and powerful CPU

Snapdragon 400 Series:

Basically, this Processor lineup is the main base mark of Snapdragon as new development made this chip capable of performing multitasking, HD graphics rendering and many other things too. This processor comes in the various ranges start with Dual-Core SoC to Quad Core or Octa-Core also. While recently there is Snapdragon 430 Processor is up and running which uses Octa-Core CPU and way more powerful than the previous one.

Snapdragon 600 Series:

This Group of series has a significant market share which made this SoC more consumable as many mobile manufacturers use this Soc as their base mark, as this SoC is capable of performing various tasks, able to render 4K content (Now), High graphics rendering capabilities and many Bands. While recently there is Snapdragon 650 or 652 is running on various devices which is best in all aspects.

Snapdragon 800 Series:

Snapdragon 800 or Flagship Processor as this processor is used by each and every flagship device which has Qualcomm’s SoC. As this benchmark of whole Qualcomm and this SoC support many things like capturing 4K content, heavy multitasking, biometric support and various other capabilities you won’t find on the previous one. Currently, the king is Snapdragon 821 which is running on all the flagship like Pixel or various other.

While at the end of this article I would like to mention about Adreno GPU also owned by Snapdragon and this GPU are featured inside the Snapdragon SoC, as nowadays GPU is capable of giving console-level graphics on a mobile device which was never thought on past days. But this GPU is the best GPU for the mobile device while Apple GPU which uses PowerVR which is a benchmark king in GPU. But Adreno GPU is capable of giving out some nice results. As recently Android start supporting Vulkan API which means that heavy graphics can now render more easily on a mobile device. So hope you may learn many think about Snapdragon SoC today and you’ll surely like it.
