What is Nvidia’s Pascal?: Nvidia recent gen GPU are known as Pascal GPU, as these GPUs are based on Pascal Architecture. As Nvidia is graphics king in the computer industry by making consumer grade GPU to industry grade. As Nvidia GPU are also behind self-driving cars many of other industry but they didn’t disclose project. Nvidia named this GPU after  Blaise Pascal, the 17th-century mathematician.

Pascal is the codename of this GPU as this series GPU is also known as 100 series. Nvidia unveils Pascal on April 2016, they also introduce gamers flagship GPU GeForce 1080. Pascal GPU is based on 16nm FinFET process, which is way smaller than previous 28nm Maxwell. Pascal GPU comes with various advancement and new industry standards to compete with counterparts.

As Pascal Flagship GPU has created new benchmarks standards which seem pretty hard to beat, while Nvidia also made possible to bring desktop class GPU into Notebook. As their are lot Notebook already supports GTX 1080 including Dell, Asus and various other. So here we give you major reason about why Pascal and also answer some major question like What is Pascal, Comparison between previous one and other major ones. So without further ado lets get started.

Pascal Architecture Its Features & Support Like VR, 4K, Multiprojection, Various API And More:

What is Pascal Architecture?:

Pascal is fifth gen Architecture GPU which is the successor of Maxwell GPU. Nvidia is started this project way back in 2014, making this small chipset require good time and other innovation. As Pascal Architecture is only 16nm FinFET process which means the chip is small require less power and efficiency is way more. While this architecture is way back than their competitor AMD which made their Polaris Architecture which is the only 14nm. So AMD gets a great leap in technology, While AMD is also aiming to capture Nvidia’s PC gaming market with their new GPU’s.

While both these GPU almost share same future technology with the compatibility of previous ones. Nvidia has a great leap in GPU processing power which made them benchmark king this year.

  • Pascal GPU also supports new Display standards like HDMI 2.0b and DisplayPort 1.4 which means that enthusiast will enjoy future compatibility. As Display in future will support higher refresh rates like 190Hz and 4K with 60 FPS. So this GPU is ready for all these.
  • Pascal GPU also has consisted of 64 CUDA cores SM(streaming multiprocessor) while the previous one has, Maxwell packed 128, Kepler 192, Fermi 32 and Tesla only 8 CUDA cores into an SM. Pascal CUDA Core is divided into two processing units which divide into 32 cores which help GPU to work like Dual Core. CUDA cores are processing power of Nvidia GPU which is made by Nvidia.
  • Pascal also supports High-Bandwidth 2 which means that this GPU can handle multitasking with very ease as data input and output rate are way high.  It features 4096-bit bus with memory bandwidths of 720GB/s.
  • Pascal also supports GDDR5X which is not a new standard of RAM but it has a various feature which is still disclosed. But this RAM provides optimum performance while processing. New memory standard supporting 10Gbit/s data rates, updated memory controller

Feature in Pascal:

Pascal GPU provide many new features like VR which is future platform, DirectX 12, PureVideo, Future Connectivity, GDDR5X and various other which we are going to talking about

VR Ready:

Nvidia brings VR experience to all Pascal lineup which means that VR will be for everyone. VR is surely the next big platform for development as many companies put forward their VR interface, while other also introduce new Game and many other things which we can think off now. Some Games like Mirror Edge and upcoming is already supported VR and gaming experience is way awesome.

Various API:

Pascal Support many gaming API like DirectX 12, Vulkan and many other. As this tool help developer to make something more awesome than previous gen. Gaming Engine is everything for Gaming experience without it gaming it’s not like which web are enjoying today.

PureVideo:

Pascal also has native support HEVC Main10(10bit), Main12(12bit) and VP9 hardware decoding. Which means that video decoding rate are awesome and you will consume 4K or 5K content pretty easy without taking GPU much power. It also supports NVENC HEVC Main10 10bit hardware encoding.

Enhanced SLI Feature:

As Pascal GPU have more memory bandwidth which made this GPU to perform more processing power in SLI more. As this require same GPU but the power it will offer is way just amazing.

GPU Features:

1). Ansel:

A user who and to enjoy artwork recent games and production value Nvidia announces Ansel World’s first in-game 3D camera system. This is very awesome technology allow the user to adjust independently adjust camera positioning and angles to capture scenes within open game worlds. As for compatibility, Nvidia includes drives and requires an SDK within the game. This the best way to seeing the new world within the game and enjoy whole in a way to interact with it the user can capture frames which are otherwise not easily composed, by moving into areas which game characters ordinarily wouldn’t be able to reach.

Images are exported at way higher resolution than the output to the monitor, making the technique superior to ordinary screenshots. They can be adjusted for colourisation, tonality, vignetting, and other effects, and exported to photo editing software as raw data. The user can get the benefit full 360-degree stereo which is phenomenal with sound, the user can export this content to other VR in the market like HTC Vivbe or Google Cardboard box,e etc. Recently supported games are The Division, The Witness, Lawbreakers, The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, Paragon, No Man’s Sky, and Unreal Tournament and expected more to come in the recent months.

2). Multiprojection:

Nvidia also includes a multi-projection for the user to view independent viewports. This feature allow the user to use multiple flat monitors, while the earlier user has get chopped images which look annoying but instead of having one large frame on a single frame, each monitor can receive its own feed with the viewport and perspective adjusted to its angle relative to the other monitors. Earlier this type of feature require to require three independent graphics cards, but can now get with a single GTX 1080, which can output three different projections in a single pass. This also benefited VR which get a projection for each eye without any other necessary hardware.

3). 4K:

Last but not the least as Nvidia finally starting gaming in 4K which is one of superb feature we get in 1080 as a player can take the advantage of new gaming resolution as 4K is till not available for gamers to play and 4K gaming may become mainstream. The current generation 4K supported by GTX 98x and Titan X GPUs.

Why Pascal?:

Pascal GPU provides way more processing power than previous gen Maxwell. These GPUs are handled VR content from the heart. 4K video decoding and encoding is also supported. Ansel, Multiprojection, and 4K are best among feature comparing all.

Nvidia also-also forwarded for their next venture to next gen GPU called as Volta as they hadn’t announced any releasing date but may come two years later in 2018.

So these are the basic or fundamental facts about Pascal GPU hope you may like it.
