Xiaomi Mi 9 Everything You Need To Know

Xiaomi one of the biggest smartphone manufactures form China bring their newest edition flagship which has been announced recently. In just 10 month after Xiaomi Mi 8 Xiaomi release their flagship Mi 9. As compared with previous gen Mi 9 has made a little bit tweaks here and there to make this smartphone to stand against the competition. Some meaningful addition includes triple camera setup, new charging improvement.

Let let see how Xiaomi made this device stand apart from competition.

Design

Design of new Mi 9 has added new colorful glass body which we have seeing in new Chinese smartphones these days. Back panel of the device is protected with Gorilla Glass 5 which made this device a little bit sturdy and also add little bit color attraction to device. On the font side device feature teardrop notch design, display is protected with Gorilla Glass 5.

On the bottom side device features Type-C port, sorry but not headphone jack but USB-C to 3.5mm adapter included in the box. There’s no fingerprint scanner on the back this year because all Mi 9 versions now use a Goodix in-display fingerprint scanner. Xiaomi has also added three shortcuts when you long-press the scanner. For now, these shortcuts are locked to scanning a QR code, performing a web search, and adding a calendar event, but Xiaomi says a future update will allow you to remap them.

Display

Display on the device have 6.39-inch AMOLED panel with Full-HD+ (2,340×1,080) resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Device has 430 nits of brightness which is optimal of outdoor usage but not under direct sunlight. The device support always on display and AI-face unlocking. 

Camera 

Camera on the device feature 3 camera setup on the rear, a 12MP 2x optical zoom, a 16MP ultra wide angle lens with 117 degree field of view and 48MP Sony IMX586 lens which is the main camera and it help to capture detailed shots. All three rear cameras are covered by Sapphire Glass.

On the front Side device has a single 20MP camera with AI bokeh effect. 

Hardware

Battery on the device account up to 3,300mAh which is pretty decent battery life for a smartphone but long hour of usage may cause issue so user used to carry power bank or charger with them. Charging on this device has made improvement as it support 27W wired and 20W wireless charging. Full charging with wire takes about a hour and 40 min. 

Device has been powered with Snapdragon 855 SoC which is truly a powerhouse of 2019 flagship smartphone. Storage and RAM option is really wonderful for user to choose device start form 64GB Storage and 6GB RAM up to 256GB Storage and 12GB of RAM. 12GB RAM model will be available only in China and Transparent Edition of MI 9 also support this configuration. 

For connectivity device support dual 4G, Bluetooth 5 and NFC. There is no option for expandability for storage in this device and also no IPX rating. 

So here are the some great feature which Xiaomi announce in their event but some of these feature may see off but the price of the device really compensate for these feature. Device will be start shipping from 3,299 yuan ($499) for 8GB/128GB model and Transparent Edition costs around 3,999 yuan ($599) for 12GB/256GB model.
