With Update 4.50 PS4’s Too Small HDD Problem Resolved Today: Today the update 4.50 has begun to rollout for the PlayStation 4 (PS4) in the Europe & North America. This update, as usual, has a number of improved things which will be useful leading to easily get around the PS4’s too small HDD through connecting it to an external drive to the console. Although the HDD was recognized to be having a serious problem since the day the console was launched, the PS4’s 500 Gigabyte HDD became a major concern.
Update 4.50 Available Now For Resolving The PS4’s Too Small HDD Problem:
The users of the PS4 even had to delete the partially finished games for making some space for the new ones. However, the only solution to this problem was to install a bigger driver thus increasing the storage space taking the system apart. Another and only solution left was to replace the PS4 with the PS4 Pro which provides a 1TB of storage option.

- During the game going on you can take screenshots which later on can be set as your custom wallpaper. The system will suggest complementary colors go along with the screenshot you choose from.
- A Booster Mode also has been added to the PS4 Pro which will improve the graphics for the old versions of the PS4 games that have not been patched to take advantage of the Pro’s increased processing power. Boost Mode may also improve the frame rates & its stability and decrease the load times. Sony warns that Boost Mode doesn’t work with all titles and may need to be turned off.
- The users now will be able to watch 3D Blu-ray movies with the PlayStation VR. Also, screen resolution for Playstation VR’s Cinematic Mode is has been improved.
- The Quick Menu now takes less space on the screen and has more functions such as the ability to create or join parties and invite friends without having to launch PlayStation’s Party app.

Although with this update 4.50 this problem will be resolved as you will be able to connect an additional external HDD of up to 8TB through USB 3.0 to the PS4. The games will be downloaded, installed & ready to be played from the external drive, appearing in the content Launcher on the PS4 Home Screen. All the saved game files too will be stored onto the consoles internal drive. This update also includes enhancements to SHAREfactory, the notification App & much more.
