Microsoft’s upcoming event is going to be held tomorrow and the excitement of upcoming devices next-gen. The surface devices can be heard all over the Internet. Microsoft is planning to take the next leap towards computing as it expected that Microsoft will announce a new category of device.
Recent Surface devices have powered embedded devices but it lacks incompatibility for future devices as recent gen. Surface Product doesn’t feature like Type-C or Thunderbolt 3 port option which really made the Surface device lag behind many competitors in the industry. Microsoft’s 3:2 aspect ratio also lacks for people who like to create a cinematic experience with Surface device, as 16:10 and above aspect ratio is standard for cinematic view. Support for standard display calibration like HDR or Wide Color Gamut also not available in device which is important for Photo editors. This all means that the Surface device is still not optimized for Professionals as people who edit slides or programmers can use this device for their works.
So these are necessary updates which are necessary we would expect in upcoming Surface devices, so without further ado let dive into upcoming Surface devices.
Surface Pro 7
Surface Pro 6 is not a phenomenal update as it just upgrades the internal from Surface 5 Pro and new color option of Black which looks awesome. But the Surface Pro 6 stills features the same as Surface Pro 4 design which is way old design pattern as many industry devices have now become slimmer and more powerful the Surface Pro 6 so Microsoft has to put emphasis on the design of upcoming Surface Pro 7. As from the rumors, Microsoft will bring slimmer chassis of Surface Pro 7.
Microsoft also needs to update the Pixel Sense display of Surface as industry content now shifting toward HDR 10 or Wide Color Gamut approach and low color profile of Surface device may cause content consumption people to look away from the Surface device. The pixel density of the device also needs to change for better and sharper looks. The bezel of the Surface device is also outdated as confirmed from leaks that Microsoft will be going to slim down the bezel of the Surface Pro 7.
The powerhouse of Surface Pro 7 will introduce Intel’s 10 Gen. CPU which is really energy-efficient as well as powerful as compared with previous-gen. Intel’s CPU. GPU of Surface Pro 7 will be the same from the Intel HD GPU series and no embedded GPU will be available from NVIDIA or AMD.
Surface Laptop 3
Surface Laptop 3 will be the more powerful device that will give head to head with Apple’s MacBook Pro, as it is expected that Apple will be going to launch a new MacBook Pro redesign lineup after the Surface event so Microsoft has to take this leap in this time frame. MacBook Pro 2019 up-gradation really made MacBook worth to buy as Quad-Core or Hex-Code option made MacBook Pro compelling deals.
Microsoft has put emphasis on Laptop performance rather than maintaining its differentiation as Surface Book 3 also made for comparison with Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch. This different device segment really creates confusion among users. Microsoft should take one lineup to its maximum so that it can compete with Apple’s MacBook.
Recent leaks are expecting major design changes with new redesign chassis and slimmer display bezel to add more modern aesthetic to the device. Microsoft also puts some emphasis on the port option of the device to add more compatible and the future proof option of ports rather than keeping old ports.
New Intel CPU will be a welcome change to add more device power with more reliability. According to leaks, it is also expected that the Surface Laptop 15-inch model will also be made its appearance in this event will slightly higher specs and options for a discrete GPU from AMD or NVIDIA. It is also expected that Surface Laptop 15 will feature AMD CPU rather than opting for Intel’s CPU.
Surface “Fold” Project Centaurus
This is one of the most unique devices which we have been heard from a while as Microsoft is trying to reinventing the computing with this new category of the device as this project is called “Project Centaurus”. We already have seen many leaks of this device from its Folding mechanism to new Core OS we are expecting to see a new range of device which will be going to change the fate of computing to support this rumors Microsoft has patented for foldable devices. After the launch, these foldable devices is expected availability will be in early 2020.
We have seen many codes of upcoming Core OS which provides a new experience with foldable Windows devices. Core OS will be based on Windows 10 with a lighter interface and easier to use.
Other Stuff
Microsoft will update the Surface Studio 3 and Surface Book 3 with new Intel’s 10th Gen. CPU and new GPU’s. Microsoft will update the design pattern of these devices with a slimmer bezel and new redesign chassis. The display of these devices is already immersive Microsoft can add more tincture of professionalism to make it more interesting.
