The annual Europe’s biggest tech show IFA in Berlin going to be held on 6-11 Sept. While Mobile World Congress (MWC) was held in Barcelona in which the tech companies only focus to show their smartphone technology. But in the IFA there many other tech sector companies like AR/VR, Wearables, SmartHome, TV manufacturers and various others are coming to show their next vision of the future.
This year is no different as compared to the previous year we have seen many tech giants are coming for this event including Samsung, LG, Sony, Huawei, HMD Global and various other. But they also start teasing their product what they are going to launch in the release.
Based on the previous event data we are going to assume what product we are going to expect in this event, so without wasting much time let us get started.
Smartphone
Smartphones have now become are daily companions from calling to building any project we use our smartphone so for increasing demand for more better feature tech companies has to meet user’s demand each year.
IFA may not the smartphone focused as the previous event like MWC already focused truly on this matter, but the time gap between MWC and IFA is long, so technology is always evolving day by day which made companies have a new feature in their next iteration in half-year.
As 5G now start showing its appearance all around the World we can now see many companies are now targeting mid-range smartphone to bring 5G technology as Samsung has recently announced their A90 5G smartphone. So we can see new devices to feature 5G.
The foldable smartphone also getting more attention as failure approach from Samsung, now many companies are focusing on developing their foldable smartphones.
The biggest announcement in this year IFA will come from the house of L.G. as they will show their latest iteration LG V50 ThingQ. Alongside some new accessory, there are also rumors that LG could announce the LG G8X, its first smartphone would feature in the fingerprint sensor. Finally, the company also confirmed to bring there mid-range smartphone the K50S and K40S, on display at the show.
We may also see some announcement from Honor which is sub-brand of Huawei, they are going to introduce Honor 9X and 9X Pro in China. Even though they are losing ground in U.S. regions, so how could Huawei manages we have to see.
HMD’s the parent company to Nokia smartphone also targeting this event to bring its mid-range devices like 5.2,6.2 and 7.2 but not flagships are going to announce.
Sony also tries to play in this turf as they are bringing their flagship latest iteration called as Xperia 2. As the device will feature all the latest feature like better screen, advance connectivity and much more. But the different design approach from Sony is amazing as Sony tries to make phone longer rather than increasing device-width which gives perfect portrait approach while using. Sony also brings a 21:9 aspect ratio screen to the device which is liked by some people earlier.
Samsung may finally make a dent in this event as they may announce most expected device Galaxy Fold in this event. Even though the first time Samsung failed to show its usability as it costs around $2,000 which really means a lot for smartphones and also the device is very fragile are many reviewers are doubt about its reliability. But Samsung now has a date to announce the Galaxy Fold, so they can show their smartphone in this event.
Wearables
Wearables are the companion to the smartphone so we can find some similar growth in this market. As Apple Watch still has an industry-leading smartwatch, but other brands also trying to close the gap between this by introducing their smartwatch in this event. It is expected that Garmin may introduce Fenix GPS sports watches and Fitbit announced its Versa 2, and earlier in the month we also saw new smartwatch announcements from Samsung and Fossil.
Huawei can also introduce their Honor Band 5 which was recently introduced in China. There is some possibility that the company may focus to bring this device in the western market also. Huawei is focused to bring their HarmonyOS in the market as fast as possible so that they diminish Android’s dependency.
PC’s
We have already seen many biggest announcements for the laptop and computer were earlier happen in Computex event. But from a past event, we have noticed that companies like Acer, Asus, Dell and Lenovo and we wouldn’t surprised to see some specs bump as Intel has already introduced their 10th gen. CPU in the market.
Acer may organize bigger announcement as they have the pretty big lineup to cover because last year they already introduce Predator Thronos gaming chair and almost amazing 2-in-1 convertible gaming laptop. We could see the Snapdragon-powered laptop in this event also.
Other
We could see some AV bring also dominate the shelves of IFA by introducing their Speaker, AMP, and various other devices. Sonos doesn’t have a presence at IFA itself, but in years past the company has timed its announcements to coincide with the show. Last year, for example, it announced the Sonos Amp, a connected device designed to power your existing passive speakers, in the run-up to IFA 2018. This year company focuses on Bluetooth speaker market and also introduce some smart devices rather than having the same old approach.
Sony also introduces a new range of wireless headphones in the market as Sony already reserve this trend from the last two year. They already announced WF-1000X last year in this event they are trying to bring more advanced headphone this year which feature more advanced technology.
