Smartphones Branded Nokia, Running Android, Arriving Soon: When the name Nokia comes into use there is always a question marking everyone’s mind & that is not about the company’s background but instead that is all about the series of smartphones that was earlier only a rumor to be arriving the markets. Now Nokia has confirmed about the Android-based Nokia smartphones to be knocking into the markets next year.

As of now Nokia seems to be a name that is never going to die in the mobile industry. But this does not mean that the Finland-based company is coming back. The entire brand has been sold off to HMD global now, which is a company formed specifically for buying the naming rights till 2024. According to HMD, it has signed a strategic licensing agreement with Nokia Technologies, the advanced technology & licensing unit of Nokia Corporation. So that is the main reason through which HMD is legally ready to use Nokia brand on Mobile phones & Tablets worldwide for the next decade & cellular standard-essential patent licenses.
Although HMD is also headquartered in Helsinki, where the previously renowned brand i.e. Nokia is also based from. The devices will be made in a manufacturing plant in Hanoi, Vietnam which has also been acquired by Microsoft by FIH Mobile that is a subsidiary of Foxconn. It is also being heard that Microsoft is also settling its smartphones business, formerly Nokia’s, to FIH Mobile for $350 million.

We will work with world class manufacturing and distribution providers to move quickly and deliver what customers want.”
Ramzi Haidamus, president of Nokia Technologies, said:
“Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the Nokia brand in an industry where Nokia remains a truly iconic name. Instead of Nokia returning to manufacturing mobile phones itself, HMD plans to produce mobile phones and tablets that can leverage and grow the value of the Nokia brand in global markets. Working with HMD and FIH will let us participate in one of the largest consumer electronics markets in the world while staying true to our licensing business model.”
Vincent Tong, Chairman of FIH, added:

So, if talking about the whole scenario to be like it would be something in a way like The 4,500 employees are being moved over from Microsoft to FIH/Foxconn & Foxconn will be producing the phones, which will be branded as ‘Nokia’ using the rights acquired by HMD from Microsoft.
So we just can wait for the newly designed & manufactured & very renowned brand i.e. Nokia to arrive into the market & you all can expect it by February of the upcoming year i.e. 2017.
