A few days back, Apple came with its Updated MacBook Air 2020 that has improved internal performance and a redesigned scissor-switch magic Keyboard. After these changes, MacBook Air and 16-inch MacBook Pro both are having the new keyboard design.

The first-time butterfly keyboard was introduced by Apple back in 2015 when they launched the 2-inch MacBook. After that, the butterfly keyboard showed some problem as well but in 2016 again when the company launched the MacBook Pro lineup with the same feature and later in 2018, Apple doubled the production of MacPro and MacBook Air with the butterfly keyboard design.

The 2018 version of the MacBook came with a thin silicone barrier under each key. After that Apple released 4th generation of MacBook with the butterfly keyboard and the updated version claimed that all issues have been resolved that were faced by the users related to the keyboard and it also came with new membrane cover and dome switches that provided more reliability and quieter typing.

In order to provide an all-round good experience to their users although the company has provided free of cost repair for its keyboard service program. The day when the company released the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air in July 2019, it came with the keyboard service program, so that if any user faced any issue related to the keyboard they can easily get resolved.

Apple MacBook Air 2020 With Magic Keyboard For More Durability Then Previous

Last year in November, Apple introduced a “magic keyboard” that is a scissor-switch keyboard in 16 -inch MacBook Pro and came out to be more reliable. Now Apple introduced the same keyboard in MacBook Air 2020. The magic keyboard is the refined scissor mechanism with 1 millimeter of travel that delivers a responsive, comfortable, quiet & better typing experience newer MacBook Air 2020.

In last year November, Apple updated the 15-inch MacBook Pro to 16-inch MacBook Pro that featured a magic keyboard and they stopped the production of 12-inch MacBook Pro, so it means that you will see only 13 – inch MacBook Pro that is in the market with the butterfly keyboard.

Magic Keyboard

However, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has said that Apple is working on introducing a magic keyboard in 13-inch MacBook Pro as well. If it is going to be true then it is possible that we may get it this year only.

It is also expecting that the 13-inch MacBook Pro may get more updates and it will come out as a better version of the existing one as it may get less bezel and increase in screen size. In between all these expectations, it is not clear whether the screen size will be 14-inch or not with mini-LED.

So at this time, somewhere we can say MacBook Air 2020 is comparatively better than the currently available 13-inch MacBook as it has a much better magic board and the price is also less for this. MacBook Air 2020 is announced at a starting price of $999 that is less than its 2018 version price that was $1,199, and down from the 2019 price drop to $1,099. While the price for Retina Air starts from $1,000.

What Is A Warrant Canary? Everything You Need To Know

0
Warrant Canary
Warrant Canary

We all are well aware of the fact that various brands collect user data in order to serve them with personalized services and advertisements. It seems reasonable if the data being collected is being used to serve the consumer but if the data is being poised for the purpose of surveillance it may be considered as violation of freedom of the person. And if the data is being enquired by some government agencies? This issue was raised by a whistle blower stating that governments collects data of their citizen for the purpose of surveillance without his/her acknowledgement. It may seem a little unmerited. Thus, warrant canaries were introduced to cope up with this issue.

What is a Warrant Canary?

Warrant Canary is a statement, webpage or printable published by a service provider, a manufacture or a telco stating the fact that they have not received any database pull request by any government agency. This statement may be published on yearly, half-yearly, quarterly basis depending upon the provider’s aptness. This statement doesn’t declare that the brand has received any database request by the government instead it states the fact that no pull request has been summoned to the brand itself. If the provider is summoned with a pull request this warrant canary disappears that signifies the element that some database has been demanded by rule for purpose of surveillance.

Warrant Canary
Warrant Canary

Jargon Of Warrant Canary

Canary birds were once used in coal mines as a carbon monoxide detection system. Canaries would show signs of illness sooner than humans once carbon monoxide levels began to rise. In this way, the birds served as an early warning system.

Warrant canaries alert you to the non-existence of a warrant. Say a company creates a dedicated webpage stating that it has never received a warrant for customer data. This page is the warrant canary. If it goes down, or the wording changes, then you can infer that the company has received a warrant.

What is Canary Watch?

Canary watch tracks and documents Canary Warrant statements. This site lists warrant canaries we know about, tracks changes or disappearances of canaries, and allows submissions of canaries not listed on the site.

Conclusion

Warrant canaries are often provided in aggregation with a transparency report, listing the process the service provider can publicly say it received over the course of a particular time period. The canary is a reference to the canaries used to provide warnings in coalmines, which would become sick before miners from carbon monoxide poisoning, warning of the danger.

Apple Unveils New iPad Pro 2020, Most Radical iPad Ever

Apple iPad Pro 2020
Apple iPad Pro 2020

There were a lot of rumors floating around the consumer space regarding new iPad Pro 2020, but all those rumors came to halt as Apple unveiled their new iteration in iPad series and dubbed the device as ‘iPad Pro 2020’. iPad 2020 also brought some radical changes along. Let’s discuss about all of them in details.

Most radical update is witnessed in the navigation and pointing schema department. In previous generation of iPads, you had to use your fingers in order to navigate through the content available on the screen but iPad Pro 2020 inherently supports navigation through any pointer device like ‘Trackpad or Mice’. All the iPad users were requesting this feature for a long time and it seems that Apple heard them. Now you can make use of any physical mouse or a trackpad to navigate through apps. This small change in Apple’s ideology could change the way one uses his iPad. This change could convert your iPad into a Laptop right away all you need to do is just attach your iPad 2020 with Apple’s new magic keyboard cover for iPad Pro 2020 or any other keyboard cover with trackpad like Logitech’s one.

New Magic Keyboard specially designed for iPad Pro 2020 increase usability of your new iPad. New Magic Keyboard is designed considering ergonomic needs of the users. It spots a floating design with smooth angle adjustment. You can easily adjust the floating angle so as to suit your requirement. This time Apple is providing you a backlit keyboard along with a trackpad attached to it. Magic keyboard for iPad will deliver you with most dynamic and satisfying typing experience ever found on iPad. However, this Magic Keyboard will be available for purchase from May and it will cost you around $349 or $200 depending upon your iPad variant.

Apple iPad Pro 2020
Apple iPad Pro 2020

The pointer will not be obstinate on the screen all the time instead it will only appear when you require it i.e. while using trackpad. Most differentiating factor is the pointer will not look like a typical mouse pointer instead it will appear as a circular dot only. Apple also stated that the new trackpad design will also support some gestures. For instance, If you swipe the cursor from bottom of the screen, app dock will appear. You can swipe three fingers simultaneously to go back to home screen. While swiping up with three fingers and holding it for some time will open multitasking window. Swiping left or right to navigate through opened app is also supported. These gestures look quite similar to gestures found on MacBook’s.

Apple iPad Pro 2020
Apple iPad Pro 2020

New iPad Pro 2020 also gets a design revamp, as it spots a square camera module similar to that of iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro’s rear camera module. The camera module spots a dual shooter setup where the primary camera being typical 12MP shooter packed with a brand new 10MP Ultra-Wide shooter with unknown field of view, but it is rumored that it supports 119o field of view. This time Apple Inc. has heated up the game by adding a LiDAR scanner. The LiDAR Scanner measures the distance to surrounding objects up to 5 meters away, works both indoors and outdoors, and operates at the photon level at nano-second speeds. New depth frameworks in iPadOS combine depth points measured by the LiDAR Scanner, data from both cameras and motion sensors, and is enhanced by computer vision algorithms for a more detailed understanding of a scene. The tight integration of these elements enables a whole new class of AR experiences on iPad Pro. That means you can create Augmented reality based content using the new iPad Pro 2020.

Apple iPad Pro 2020
Apple iPad Pro 2020

When it comes to performance this iPad Pro 2020 combined with new magic keyboard could replace your Windows computer setup as stated by Apple. New iPad Pro is powered by A12Z Bionic chipset as compared to A12X on the previous generation devices. A12Z chipset houses 8 CPU cores and 8 GPU cores along with one Neural core that promises ultimate performance when coupled with Apple’s iPad OS integration. It packs 5 studio quality microphones to record crystal clear audio while packing four speakers to make your binge watch experience more immersive and dynamic.

Apple devices are quite popular for their immersive displays and same goes with new iPad as it packs an edge to edge liquid retina display with P3 wide color support. Apple has added support for ProMotion technology that is basically ‘High refresh rate’ technology depending upon your action new iPad could change refresh rate of the screen to make your scrolling experience more proactive. You can go upto a refresh rate of 120Hz.

New iPad Pro 2020 will be available in two variants i.e. 11-inches and 12.9-inches with two color options silver and space grey. Four storage configurations will be there starting with 128GB of storage going upto 1 terabyte of storage.

Samsung Launched Galaxy M21 In India With 48MP Camera And 6000mAh Battery

0
Galaxy M21
Galaxy M21

Quick Specs Of Samsung Galaxy M21

  • 6000mAh Battery
  • 15W fast charging over USB Type-C
  • Triple rear cameras with 48MP primary shooter
  • 20MP front facing camera
  • 16.21cm (6.4”) FHD+ sAMOLED display
  • Exynos 9611
  • Starting at Rs.12,999

Samsung introduced a new device in their so called upper mid-range series the galaxy M-series. Galaxy M21 turns out be successor of Galaxy M20 that was launched in early 2019. Galaxy M21 is a prodigious leap keeping in mind the specification of Galaxy M20. Let’s get into more details of this device.

Specification And Features Of Samsung Galaxy M21

Samsung Galaxy M21

Main highlight of this device is it’s atrocious 6000mAh battery that promises more than 2 days of juice over moderate usage and Samsung calls it ‘WattaWarrior’ and it supports 15Watt fast charging over USB Type-C cable, Samsung should have at least jumped to 18Watt fast charging because some other device in the given price bracket supports 30Watt fast charging like realme 6. I don’t know why but Samsung is holding up on innovation and focus more on their profits and that’s why Samsung is lagging behind in the mid-range and budget segments.

Galaxy M21 houses a triple rear camera setup with primary camera being a 48MP shooter along with 5MP depth sensor and an 8MP Ultra-Wide lens with a 123o field of view and that’s pretty impressive because usually other devices in this price segment comes with a 119o field of view ultra-wide shooter. While M21 packs a 20MP selfie camera packed inside the Water Drop Notch or Infinity U notch as Samsung calls it. Rear camera supports recording of video in 4K resolution with integrated support of Hyper lapse and Slo-Mo videos.

Coming to the display section, whole world knows that Samsung is the master of displays and the same legacy lingers with Galaxy M21 as it holds a 16.21cm (6.4”) Super AMOLED Infinity U (Dew drop or water drop notch) display with a contrast ratio of 78960:1 and screen ratio of more than 91% that means the 91% portion of your device’s front face is covered by screen. It turns out to be one of the brightest displays in this particular class as maximum brightness of the device can reach the mark of 420 nits and when this kind of brightness is packed with sAMOLED display it’s a delight to watch movies or any of your favorite content. The screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and I think that Samsung must have used Corning Gorilla Glass 5 instead, as it provides better protection from scratches and falls compared to Gorilla Glass 3.

Galaxy M21 is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 9611 SoC that is an Octa-Core chipset where high performance cores based on Cortex-A73 clocked at 2.3GHZ and battery efficient Cortex-A53 clocked at 1.7GHZ and graphic rendering powered by Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. Fabrication of this chipset is based on 10nm principle. Exynos 9611 supports LPDDR4x RAM with RAM variants being 4GB and 6GB with storage support of 128GB and 64GB along with expandable storage supported upto 512GB.

It comes with Widevine L1 certification out of the box that means you can watch your favorite OTT based content in High Definition along with unmatched sound quality through Dolby Atmos. Galaxy M21 comes in two color variants namely Midnight Blue and Raven Black while the device is made out of polycarbonate back. It runs on OneUI 2.0 based on Android 10.

Galaxy M21 comes in two configurations i.e. 4GB + 64GB priced at Rs.12,999 and a 6GB+128GB whose price was not revealed. The device will be available in two color variants Midnight Blue and Raven Black and it will be available on Amazon from 23rd of March.

iPhone 9 With Bigger Screen & Face ID

0

Apple is planning to introduce new iPhones 9 that would be comparatively cheaper than the existing model and the company could use the iPhone 8 as the base model for this. This report came into light by few reports given by suppliers who attended the CES 2020 at Las Vegas. According to the information, Apple may produce this iPhone which will have the body of iPhone 8 with the latest A13 Bionic chipset and Face ID.

iPhone 9 Would Resemble Its Ancestor iPhone 8

In order to make the screen bigger, Touch ID and button will not be included. By removing the fingerprint scanner, the display size will be 5.4-inch than 4.7-inch. It will feature a TrueDepth camera along with an LED flash.

iPhone 9 Design
iPhone 9 Expected Design

Recent leaks are suggesting that Apple might bring FaceID to this iPhone, which will be a huge step for Apple as they try to make this phone as cheap as possible and in that case, bringing FaceID could lit up the cost of the device. With the inclusion of FaceID users can use the feature like Animoji or Memoji for sending stickers or calling on FaceTime Video Chat. FaceID also brings more security to the device as compared with TouchID as it is far better and more reliable.

Apple might go for new major design improvements as they try to make device edges square rather than curved edges as in iPhone 8, this will make the grip of the iPhone better just like in iPhone 4. Apple may also bring sturdier glass on the back and front of the device to provide solid protection from drops.

Apple might add more color options to this iPhone as they have done on iPhone 11, it might include 6 or 5 color options. This will make the device more bright in appearance and more unique for users.

Production of iPhone 9 might get some push back as recent Coronavirus might affect Apple’s supply chain. Apple might delay the launch of the product. Apple could push the timeline of the iPhone 12 also if this does not get resolve quickly.
