Apple has quietly updated its MacBook lineup as they have made some biggest changes which we’ll come across this article.
Dead Of MacBook
Apple most futuristic lineup of MacBook also called as MacBook 12 now been discontinued from Apple. Apple announces this laptop in 2015 September event, Apple has taken some of the most futuristic design decision to make this laptop which all comes to vain one by one.
Apple has opted for only one Type-C for the first time as previous MacBook doesn’t have this limited port option, Apple thinks this laptop as a future of computer but the limitation of One port leads to “dongle life” as this causes many users to not to choose this laptop. Apart from port Apple also changes the Keyboard as they adopted a new design called Butterfly Mechanism which still persist and vulnerable to usage as when the user uses this keyboard they are prone to be faulty. Apple made the fourth iteration of Butterfly Keyboard but they won’t able to achieve the success.
Apart from negative Apple also made some really nice improvement like thin and light design which by far better than any counterpart. Apple opted for laminated Retina display which really looks gorgeous. Faster SSD’s and RAM also help this device to reach its potential and made it more sturdy.
But these change won’t able to keep this device for long and Apple has to make the decision to discontinue the device.
Faster 13” MacBook Pro
Apple updated the 13” MacBook Pro with Touch Bar earlier this year but the non-Touch-Bar model has been updated and it receives more improvements like Touch Bar and function key has been removed.
Apple also updated the 8th Gen. Intel CPU which support Quad-Core with a base clock of 1.4 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.9 GHz along with this Apple also added custom made chipset T2 chipset which takes care for smaller workloads. The device also gets a True-Tone display which adjusts display temperature according to ambient lighting conditions. Storage of the device now been soldered into the motherboard same as $1800 MacBook Pro.
These smaller changes will make the MacBook Pro 13” best Ultrabook to choose according to its price range which its falls.
Air now become cheaper
Apple has reduced the cost of the MacBook Air to $100 as now MacBook Air costs around $1099 for the 128GB model. Apple also updates the CPU with Intel’s 8th Gen. with Dual-Core Core i5 clocked at 1.6 GHz Turbo boost up to 3.6 GHz. Apple also updates the Display to support True-Tone.
Apple Air 2017 model has now been discontinued from Apple as it has been the best laptop that Apple has ever created as it is sturdier than Apple current lineup. It is also been the cheapest MacBook which costs around $999 only for the 128 GB model. Now Apple MacBook Air 2019 made more sense as it now been the entry-level MacBook and its competition with 2015 MacBook also ends as 2015 MacBook costs more than Air and have only one Type-C port which made the device more unreasonable as compared with MacBook Air.
Cheap Storage Upgrade Option
Apple now made more reasonable memory upgrade option in their Mac lineup as the user can now upgrade their memory with half the price as the previous upgrade.
So these are the changes Apple made in their current Mac lineup and also made easier to choose MacBook with various option.
Apple iPhone design has now becoming outdated as other companies like Oppo who’s built world’s first under screen camera which vanishes the concept of Notch or Punch hole. Apple is also trying to build this type of camera but still, they haven’t able to produce it.
Ming-Chi Kuo has reported a new research note today via a Chinese website MyDrives in which he claims that at least one new iPhone in 2020 will be equipped with a smaller front camera lens for an improved screen-to-bezel ratio, suggesting the notch will be slimmer.
Apple also developing an under screen TouchID sensor which will ditch the FaceID. As these approaches may seem like Apple is making an approach toward a notch less display.
The analyst believes all three new iPhones will be notch-less in 2021, completing the transition to under-screen front cameras and full-screen fingerprint authentication. The report claims Apple is likely to develop its own under-screen fingerprinting technology rather than rely on a third-party provider.
Apple is redeveloping Touch-ID sensor so that the iPhone could be cheaper for budget oriented markets. Fingerprint technology may costs less as compared with FaceID camera technology.
According to an Asian supply chain, Apple is developing an acoustic fingerprint sensor that could be a centerpiece for 2020 iPhone.
The notch is among the controversial design decision from the tech industry since its inclusion in 2017, Apple also trying to compete for this trend and adopt in iPhone X with a much-awaited design refresh. But since more people are liking notch less design whole tech industry also trying to erase this design decision.
Apple is pushing too hard to bring this Notch down and we’ll surely see its first implantation with the 2019 iPhone.
Apple has updated the AirPods recently with the inclusion of Wireless Charging, new H1 Chipset with Bluetooth 5 support all these changes leads to better Hey Siri support, battery life and reliable connection of the device.
But Apple hasn’t stopped, they are developing a more advanced version of AirPods which may include Water Resistance capability according to Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives. The first two generations of AirPods do not have IP-rated water or dust resistance.
Apple also made some design tweaks to the AirPods as according to a research note this week, shared by Philip Elmer-DeWitt. Apple has implemented the same design which they carried from 2013 EarPods and they add wireless capability but still, this design has some disadvantages as many users won’t able to fit the AirPods perfectly which causes the drop or fall of the AirPods.
Bloomberg’s reporter Mark Gurman was first to reveal the feature Apple will release with 2nd Gen. AirPods back in February 2018 but after a lot of delays, Apple finally launches 2nd Gen. AirPods in March of 2019. In June 2018 he also reported that Apple is working on other versions of AirPods which include Water Resistance and Noise Cancellation.
Gurman also reported that Apple is developing over-headphones with noise cancellation that could launch as early as this year. The headphones are said to be “studio quality” which clearly mean that the device really cost much but have a feature packed into it.
In April Ming-Chi Kuo also suggested that two new AirPods will likely go in mass production between the fourth quarter of 2019 and first quarter of 2020, with one of the new models featuring all new design. As Jonny, I’ve leaves Apple formally it is interesting to see how Apple will coup up from this situation and made other great products.
Apple next Gen. AirPods will more interesting technologies and also include Apple custom H2 Chipset which features more interesting technology.
Apple 2019 iPhone has to bring some design makeover as compared to recent gen iPhone as expected that Apple will bring Triple Camera set up to iPhone which really raises the question that how Apple will manage to put these three cameras together.
A recent leak from a Chinese social media showing the rear of the device that resembles a housing of three camera lenses. The above image and mockup (below), shared via Weibo and later tweeted by Ben Geskin, tally with rumors that the next-generation iPhone will feature a rear triple-lens camera system in a triangular configuration.
Renowned analysts Ming-Chi Kuo also suggest that Apple will bring triple camera setup to iPhone way back October last year. According to rumor, Apple will put 3 different camera setup which includes a wide lens, a telescopic lens with up to 5x Optical Zoom and Depth sensing or any other type of sensor.
In January, serial mobile leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer A.k.a @OnLeaks also released a rendered image of 2019 iPhone models, with three lenses, a flash, and a mic in a triangular arrangement.
Major news firm like Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg also reported about this triple camera setup. But how Apple will implement this setup seems more amazing as leaks look a little bit off. It is also expected that Apple may introduce the third camera on the ring of the flash and trim down the flash so that recent design will remain intact for 2019 iPhone.
A triple lens camera may bring a more professional touch to iPhone as there is a various expectation that Apple may bring some improvement to the camera set up as a competitor like Samsung, Google, and Huawei already made their leap above from Apple.
Apple iPhone lineup now becoming old as we have seen many other smartphones with a more better camera, better screen size, no notch display and much more features which make iPhone look pretty outdated. Apple iPhone Notch is always have a mixed reaction as after the release of iPhone X every smartphone copies it then, some smartphone makers are a step ahead to bring much more creativity to their design as they introduce pop up camera, punch hole design and various other things. But Apple is trying to diminish the notch from the starting but technology hasn’t been advanced yet.
Apple 2020 iPhone lineup may bring much better value and improved hand to hand as Apple is trying to stop LCD display on their 2020 iPhone, according to the sources Apple will bring OLED display to every 2020 iPhone models. Apple also brings 3 smartphones in 2020 and also include a smaller form factor as compared to iPhone X.
According to a report from DigiTimes this morning that Apple will release three OLED iPhones in 2020 available in 5.42, 6.06- and 6.67-inch sizes. This means that Apple will make some trim down version of their current lineup as 5.8-inch for iPhone X or XS, 6.5-inch for iPhone XS Max and 6.1-inch for iPhone XR.
In 2020 Apple may produce thinner OLED which allow them to trim the size of the device much more. Apple may purchase display from LG and Samsung, as their current OLED providers are Samsung. Apple may also bring the price of the device low which may result in the price drop of the device.
Additionally, the 5.42-inch model to be released in 2020 may come with either Samsung Display’s Y-Octa or LG Display’s TOE touch technology, indicated the sources, noting that both touch solutions promise to trim down the display cost.
Y-Octa is an advanced flexible AMOLED display technology that removes the film substrate and allows the touch circuit to be directly patterned on the film’s encapsulation layer, making the display thinner, indicated the sources.
According to DigiTimes’ sources, Samsung will maintain its dominance as the main OLED panel supplier for Apple next year, while it remains to be seen whether LG or BOE Technology can gain OLED panel orders from the company.
2020 iPhone may see more improvement we could imagine as Apple may feature Triple Camera setup for capturing more stunning and lifelike shots better AR reception and much more. Apple also brings 5nm process chipset in 2020 iPhone which will make the iPhone more fast beast than ever.
Apple Watch is the most personal smart device user wear as it helps the user to show their day to day whereabouts from Health to other stuff. So how could Apple not try to bring more refinement to upcoming Apple Watch. Apple is preparing for the 5th Gen Apple Watch as they recently made an order for newer OLED’s to Japan Display Inc.
Japan Display Inc will begin to supply organic light-emitting diode (OLED) screens for the Apple Watch later this year, two sources said, a breakthrough for the cash-strapped company whose late shift to OLED has cost it orders from Apple.
The supply deal would mark Japan Display’s foray into the OLED display market, the two sources familiar with the matter said, declining to be identified because they are not authorized to speak to the media.
Japan Display was providing the display for iPhone XR, which uses LCD. But Apple is planning to drop LCD from their iPhone completely by 2020 in favor of all-OLED. As a result, Japan Display has been seeking investor help that will put it on firmer ground before the switch takes place.
According to reports the company has aimed to raise as much as $990 million in new financing as easily as this week.
Samsung might be the supplier of OLEDs for recent gen Apple iPhone XS and XS Max. It has been reported that LG is also building a facility for the production of OLED display so that Apple may switch from Samsung to LG as the main supplier.
Today’s report offers little clue as to what the switch to Japan Display OLED screens could mean a lot for the next Apple Watch, save for a note that newer OLED technology is generally thinner and allows more flexibility than LCD screens. For the Apple Watch Series 4, Apple upgraded the display panel to a larger LTPO (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide) OLED Retina Display, which means it is more efficient and consumes less power for better battery life.
Apple will make Apple Watch Series 5 introduction in September Event alongside with 2019 iPhone.
Apple may bring much improvement to upcoming Apple Watch which includes new Materials, Solid State Button which don’t click but feels like it clicks, faster processor, sleep tracking and more.
Apple Special March event is finally completed and Apple has shows us lots of possibilities that Apple is not only about iPhone but more than that. Apple has shifted their strategy from hardware to services, Apple services also been the core attraction for Apple users as services like iMessage, FaceTime, Find my Friend, iTunes, Apple Music, and various other services makes Apple ecosystem. Apple tries to add more core services like News Subscription, Game Subscription, tv channels and Video Streaming service these new content may attract more customer than ever as we haven’t seen any tech giants like this have all these service in one place. So let understand what these services are about.
Apple News+
Apple new naming scheme seems very bit off as Apple always been a trendsetter in the naming department as product names like Mac, iPhone, and various others make much more impact.
Apple News+ is subscription is one pack to go service for all the magazines and premium content from bigger publishing house, Apple has made much easier way to subscribe to all the best magazines at once without having to pay each magazine separately and user don’t have to pay publisher separately as this step reduces more cumbersome process of subscription and more attraction on reading. Apple joins hand with a bigger publication like the Wall Street Journal, Vox Media and various other to bring their content for a wider audience.
As compare this with other News application like Google News which still struggle with separate purchase for each publication to read premium which cost the user more than ever. Apple News+ subscription just starts at $9.99 and the Family Sharing feature also works without any extra cost.
Apple News also seems to expand in European countries during 2019, Apple News+ subscription service will be available in the U.S and Canada.
Apple Card
Apple also jumped into banking service as they now provide Credit Card, iPhone user can easily open their Credit Card account by simply applying in wallet app Apple partnered with Goldman Sachs and MasterCard to bring this service. Apple also providing a physical Credit Card which is made from Titanium.
Apple Credit Card also promises various things which include No Charges on late submission, Lowest Interest Rate and Reward Money rather than points. Apple Reward scheme includes real money rather than companies point system which literally don’t make any sense. The user can earn cash-back on each purchase up to 2% if they are paying from Apple Pay, 1% if paying from the physical card and 3% if they pay in Apple stores.
Apple Credit Card service will be made its introduction around may and will be delivered to the user with an update. Apple Credit Card feature will only available in the U.S during its launch and wide adoption not mentioned yet.
Apple Wallet app also got some refresh as now it tracks Apple Credit Card purchases, also gives your glimpse of what you earn and how could you save in easy to use an interface rather than cryptic mail from bank companies.
Apple Arcade
Apple Arcade seems more revolutionary step to bring the biggest creator under one house it doesn’t mean that companies make gaming like a console, Apple Arcade is Apple’s own production solution for creators in which they can collaborate to make an amazing game under one roof. Apple has signed with major game studios like Disney, Sega and various other to bring their game to Apple platform.
Apple Arcade is a subscription service which comes in one time month payment method and user can play games curated from Apple free without having to purchase each game separately and one more amazing thing is that Apple Arcade won’t support any in-game Ad and in-App purchase so user can play game without have to interrupted each time with Ad and In-App purchase. The user can play the same game in each platform which includes iOS, Mac and Apple TV devices. Each game data save online so the user can play the game where they left on the previous device.
Pricing of the service is not announced yet as service may make its introduction in the fall.
Apple TV+
Apple TV app now got updated with a new interface which now recommends user to what to watch now, what’s hot according to your taste and feature program. Apple hasn’t solved the problem of different subscription issue as a user have to buy the subscription from each company like Amazon, Hulu, HBO and others to watch your favorite show. As people are expecting that Apple may merge each company show into one easy to pay subscription service rather than buying each service individually.
Apple TV also brings new Channels subscription so now user can choose their channel they want to see and pay for each channel individually rather than paying for the bundle which includes channel you may don’t want to watch. More subscription details will be more clear in this fall.
Apple TV+ is Apple’s originals show subscription which includes in house production shows from the biggest creative minds around the world tries to bring the bigger and more diverse cinematic experience to Apple TV.
Apple TV+ service may show that Apple is very late to this industry but Apple has signed with bigger stars like Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, JJ Abrams, and various other creative minds to one place to produce something bigger. But originals from Amazon like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel or Netflix originals like Strangers Things, House Of Cards, Daredevil or Orange is New Black has already made marvelous image among user so it may seem more interesting than how Apple will appeal user to buy Apple TV+ subscription rather than these originals.
Pricing and other details of Apple TV+ will be introduced in fall. Apple also brings Apple TV app in various other platforms like Streaming Box like Fire TV and Roku, Smart TV’s like Samsung, Sony, LG and others, Mac also receive a different app for this streaming service.
So these are the new services Apple have to introduce in their special event we have to see how Apple stand in the services sector as Apple has already shown its dominance in the product department.
Apple’s “Show Time” event is not a hidden game as Apple already show us a glimpse of the event in its theme invitation. Apple is preparing for the launch of their own streaming service as like Netflix or Prime Video. Apple is no new player to coming late to the game and succeed it as for example Apple Music which comes very late after Spotify and other online music streaming service but becomes top user base in the US. So it is expected that Apple may nail this competition also as according to rumor Apple has already partnered with biggest production companies and also specific artists to play a major role in Apple streaming service.
So this event is all about Apple streaming service as Apple has made earlier rollout for their product which includes AirPods (2nd gen), iPad Air, iPad mini and iMac’s updates. But there is still room for Apple other product which not release yet. So let’s see which products and services Apple going to roll out in the event.
Apple Video Service
Apple Video is the main focus of the event as Apple has invested around $1 Billion to make this service happen. Apple has invested this money in joining other media streaming service and also joining hands to partners to bring its content natively to Apple Video.
Apple earlier approach to bring original content may be forgotten by the users as shows like Carpool Karaoke by James Corden’s or Planets of the Apps but these show won’t able to make a dent to the mainstream user. The user can see these shows free if they have Apple Music subscription. Apple may bring some new content genres like Drama, Comedy or other to attract more user with this new service.
Apple Video service may include inside the Video app on iOS and TV devices and may inside iTunes on Mac. Apple may focus to bring this service more user accessible by making their apps for Windows and Android ecosystem just like Apple Music App. Apple may bring their app for other set-top boxes like Amazon Fire TV, Roku and various other.
Pricing of this service will be the same as competition like Prime Video or Netflix at around $10.99 to $12.99.
Apple News Subscription
Apple will bring subscriptions in their news apps so bigger publishing media like Wall Street Journal or various other can publish their best content to Apple news and earn from a subscriber. Apple may include magazines subscription also so magazines publishing companies can easily use Apple service for selling their magazine.
Other small hardware
It is expected that Apple may bring a new iteration of its iPod Touch. Which feature a new processor, new display, new design, and a headphone jack. Apple brings this device because kids love this device as it is small and also cheaper as compared to Apple expensive iPhones.
Apple may also bring AirPower as recent leaks suggest that Apple has already made arrangement in their website to show AirPower so AirPower may finally show its usability. It’s about 1 and half year Apple gives us the glimpse of AirPower but they won’t able to make it to the mainstream as they also have to remove its picture from their website.
So these are services and products we are expecting from Apple to bring in the event. So let see how these services will make its introduction to the mainstream audience or not?
Apple iPhone XS hasn’t made many features upgrade as compared with iPhone X but upcoming 2019 iPhone may come with better features as compared to iPhone XS. Apple is pushing its development team to build something better as we get some glimpse of iPhone XI over the internet. Apple may adopt some features from recent gen smartphones like Galaxy S10 and others.
According to a leak from Macotakara, the Japanese Apple news blog has shared new information about the iPhone 11 and its rumored bidirectional wireless charging feature. The site also has new details about what wired charging solution to expect with the next flagship iPhones. This feature works the same as Samsung’s Galaxy S10’s Wireless PowerShare feature.
This leak was first cited to the mainstream before Galaxy S10’s days from Ming-Chi Kuo. Bidirectional wireless charging is an amazing and useful concept as it helps to power up your wearables on the go.
This leaks also show its validation from recent Apple’s AirPods update which includes a new Wireless Charging feature. The user can now wirelessly charge their AirPods from any Qi Charging base. But Apple’s AirPower yet made to the mainstream as it is expected that Apple may introduce AirPower in March 25th special event.
Macotakara also suggested that Apple may bundle 18W USB brick alongside iPhone XI bundle. The back side of the adapter includes USB C port for the lightning connector to USB-C wires. Apple currently ships 5W USB-A brick alongside iPhone XS as this must seem Apple still don’t care for the user as competitions now try to bring a 27W adapter for a smartphone but Apple still stuck there.
Based on Ming-Chi Kuo’s predictions, we’re more confident in the rumor that next-gen iPhones will be able to wireless charge other Apple devices and not just feature wireless charging input.
Rumors about power cables and bricks always less concrete as last year leaks are speculating that Apple will bring an 18W charger for iPhone but they don’t ship it. So this leak may become invalid until Apple really thinks about it.
We have seen the transition in cables in 2012 when Apple release iPhone 5s since then Apple use the Lightning port for iPhone.
