Other brands like Realme had tried to overshadow, Redmi Note 8 Pro by unofficially announcing there 64 MP camera devices but the game took another twist when Redmi (a sub-brand of Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi) officially launched Redmi Note 8 Pro, The device features a 64 MP Primary camera and became the world’s first smartphone with 64 MP camera and a quad-camera setup.

Display And Design

Even though the main highlight of this smartphone is the camera, Brand took care of all the other aspects as well. When we talk about display, the device features a 6.53 inches Full HD+, LCD Display with a very thin bezel at the bottom also known as chin measuring 4.2mm in size, This massive display is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass to protect it from scratches and other damages. 

As the display is not an OLED display there was no chance of getting any kind of Under-Display fingerprint scanner. So, The brand moved the fingerprint scanner in the center of rear panel, where it is followed by an unusual camera setup where three-camera are aligned vertically above the fingerprint scanner and the fourth one is aligned on the right side of the fingerprint scanner and just below the LED flashlight. This seems to be a very innovative design for a quad-camera setup. It is also the major difference between the two brothers launched in the Note 8 Series, Younger brother i.e. Redmi Note 8 feature quad-camera setup, But camera are aligned vertically one below the other and the whole setup is placed rest’s on the top left corner of the device. The rear panel is made out of glass and looks very glossy and premium and is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, Gives it an edge over its competitors.

Camera 

Now, Coming to the biggest selling point of the device i.e. Camera. Redmi Note 8 Pro features and quad-camera setup on the rear side where the primary camera is a 64 MP shooter powered by ISOCELL bright GW1 from the house of Samsung. This 64 MP beast is accompanied by 3 more camera with the following specification, 8 MP Ultra-Wide Lens with a 119-degree field of view along with a 2 MP depth sensor and a 2 MP dedicated Macro Lens that will help you in taking amazing close-up shots. Coming to the front camera, The device features a 20 MP front camera tucked into the waterdrop notch (Top Notch as named by Xiaomi) with plenty of AI-Based features such as scene recognition and beauty mode as well.

Battery And Performance

Now let’s focus on the aspect of performance. The device is built with a gene of gaming as this 64 MP camera beast is powered by the heart of a gaming beast i.e. MediaTek Helio G90T, This chipset is one of the latest SoC from the house of MediaTek built with a gaming DNA. The chipset is built to deliver extensive gaming while intelligently managing the battery. When the chipset goes hand in hand with 6/8 GB of RAM along with 4,500 mAh of battery with support of 18 Watt fast charging.

The device will steal your heart away in the first look and hands-on. The major upgrade over Redmi Note 7 Pro is you can find the support of liquid cooling due to which you can perform extensive tasks without the worry of your device becoming a ball of fire. There is one more feature that may go out of notice while talking about this device i.e. Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with a feature with help of which you can connect to Wi-Fi and 4G simultaneously. The device is splash-proof as it comes with P2i coating.

Drawbacks

You will agree with us that, The device is a beast and a killer in its league and outperform any other device in the market within its price bracket. The major drawback is not from the field of hardware, but the bad news comes from the software end. The device is running on MIUI 10 i.e. a custom skin from the house of Xiaomi. We all are aware of the Advertisements in there MIUI this may not affect all of the user community but it may be taken in consideration when you are switching from any other brand to Redmi it may cut your heart a little. Other than this we were not able to find any other drawback in newly launched Redmi Note 8 Pro. Device aslo feature a World of Warcraft Edition.

Redmi Note 8 Pro will feature 3 colors i.e. Black, Green, White and will go live for sale in September. Pricing of the beast is quite competitive. You have to pay about Rs.14,500 to 15,000 (CNY 1,399/ $195) for 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of ROM, While you have to spend Rs.18,500 to 19,000 ($250/ CNY 1,799) for the 8 GB RAM and 128 GB of storage variant. 

Redmi Note 8, this is finally here, Today Xiaomi launched its most anticipated series of devices i.e. Redmi Note 8 series. The devices launched under this series were Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro along with some more products like a laptop named Redmibook 14 Pro along with a 70 inches television named as Redmi TV.

Redmi Note 8 is a budget device with starting prices of about Rs.10,000 with some upper mid-range capabilities like a great processor coupled with quad-camera setup at the rear, Makes it a more than a normal sub-15K device. Now its time to get a deeper dive into further details.

Design

Redmi Note 8 comes with a glass back which is protected with corning gorilla glass along with 6.3 inches Full HD + LCD display protected with corning gorilla glass 5. Due to an LCD display, it doesn’t feature any In-Display fingerprint scanner. The rear camera setup differentiates Note 8 from Note 8 Pro as the quad cameras are present on the top left corner instead of the central setup showcased in Redmi Note 8 Pro. Fingerprint sensor finds its place in the middle of the back panel. Notification LED is not to be seen anywhere. The glossy glass black will steal your heart in the first look.

Camera 

Redmi Note 8 is bundled with quad-camera. The primary camera is a 48 MP shooter powered by Sony IMX 586 sensor, It can help you take some breathtaking shots with crisp and clear quality. The primary shooter is accompanied by 3 more camera. One is 8 MP wide-angle lens with 119-degree field of view, The other two are 2 MP both, One for macro photography i.e. to take some amazing close-up shots, Another one is a typical depth sensor. The front camera features a 13 MP sensor which is placed inside top-notch (as pronounced by Xiaomi). In short, the camera capabilities of Note 8 is quite exceptional keeping in mind that it comes under sub 15K category.

Additional Features

Some of the exciting, as well as a lovable feature included in Redmi Note 8, is, Support of Near Field Communication also knowns as NFC. Today, Oppo launched it’s series flagship devices known as Oppo Reno 2 series. It is the second iteration in its flagship series the first one being Reno. Oppo launched 3 devices in the series namely Oppo Reno 2, Reno 2z, Reno 2F.

All the devices have the same camera specifications that we are going to talk about in later sections. The difference comes out in the Processor section all the devices have different processors and the most unnoticed difference is in its screen qualities.

Now, let’s take a deep dive in details –

Oppo Reno 2

Oppo Reno 2 is the big boy in the series powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G SoC which is an upper mid-range processor form the house of Qualcomm purely optimized for gamers. It comes with a 6.5 inches 1800X2400 pixel full HD Super AMOLED display with an under-display fingerprint scanner of 7^th generation and aspect ratio of 20:9, brand named this screen as E3 Sunlight screen. The screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection and Gorilla Glass 5 at the rear panel to protect it’s appealing look from scratches as well as breaking.

Coming to its major selling point it spots Quad-Camera setup in the rear where the primary camera comes out to be 48 MP accompanied with an 8 MP wide-angle lens, 2 MP depth sensor along with 2 MP monochrome sensor that helps you to take great portrait pictures in black and white shade.

When we talk about its front camera we can’t forget to mention it’s unique shark-fin raising mechanism for the front camera which spot’s a 16 MP sensor with soft flash.

All the specifications are same as Reno 2 but the catch is it spots a 1080p Full HD display instead of 1800p Full HD+ Display present in Reno 2. The second is quite a big one as Reno 2Z is powered by MediaTek Helio P90 SoC instead of Snapdragon 730G present in it’s an elder brother.

It will feature two colors as well one being Luminous Black and Polar Light colors, The device is priced at Rs. 29,990 (approx $420) and will be available in the market from September 6.

Oppo Reno 2F

The difference from other two devices includes, It comes with MediaTek Helio P70 SoC and screen similar to Reno 2Z while the other difference is it comes with the support of Bluetooth 4.2 instead of Bluetooth 5.0 present in Reno 2 and 2Z.

The brand didn’t say a word about its availability and price now but the expected price will be Rs. 24,990 (approx $350).

Conclusion 

Reno series by Oppo is gaining quite a hype as it feature some cool design in back panel as well as it’s shark-fin rising front camera that appeals most of the youngsters and this time the 48 MP primary camera with Sony IMX 586 sensor makes it a lovable device for photography as well as videography lover as it features some amazing and new camera function that rises it above from other competitors, To name some of them Ultra Dark Mode in photos, Mono sensor for picture-perfect portrait shots and Ultra-Steady feature that helps you keep the video stable to a great extent. Talking about disadvantage, Oppo’s own ColorOS is there biggest problem as it RAM management and System Optimization not up to the mark.
