There’s been a lot of rush around launch and expectations around the next iteration in the fitness band line-up from Xiaomi that goes by the name of Mi Band. Today, we got some legit news regarding the launch date of the upcoming Mi Band 5.
A post went live on the public WeChat channel of Xiaomi India named Xiaomi Mall announcing the exact launch date of Xiaomi’s Mi Band 5. The online launch date of the fitness band is set to 11th June 2020.
Expected Features Of Mi Band 5
Along with the exact launch date of the next-gen fitness band, we also got our hands on some key features of the upcoming fitness band.
Mi band 5 will grab a larger display as compared to its predecessor Mi Band 4, It is expected to have a 1.2” AMOLED display with full touch display.
A live image of Mi Band 5 surfaced online quite some time ago defining some dimensions of it along with new placement for charging port. Mi Band 5 will have even more flatter dimensions compared to Mi Band 4. A Flatter screen will provide better accessibility to the user. It is also assumed that Xiaomi has got rid of the small circle in the center and is ready to offer an immersive fullscreen experience.
The word on the tech street says that this time the global variant of Mi Band 5 will have the functionality of Near Field Communication(NFC). Mi Band 4 had this functionality but this feature never made to India but this time we think that Mi Band 5 will bring the power of NFC in the hands of every Indian.
We also got to know that Mi Band 5 will feature a Blood Oxygen Level i.e. SpO2 monitor as well. This feature was previously seen on some smartwatches like realme Watch and other smartwatches from Noise as well.

In addition to the above-mentioned health-tracking features, Mi Band 5 will also enhance its functionalities over the activity-tracking front as well with the addition of 5 new sports modes namely Yoga, Elliptical machine, Rowing machine, Skipping rope, and Indoor bicycle. This also increases the total number of sports modes to 11.

Android 10 vs 9 was last year deal but the introduction new Android 11 opens a new possibility of Android 11 vs Android 10 features to get head to head. Android made its debut with Android 1.0 also duped as Alpha on September 23, 2008, since then every new release of Android brought some holistic enhancements and improvements over its predecessor. This year we are about to witness Android 11 which is currently residing in the development and testing phase. As we all know that the development process of the world’s most loved operating system is very transparent and audience engagement plays a great role in the development process, Every stable release of Android have to go through some rigors testing by users, developers, and beta testers, Google releases four developers preview along with three beta releases before releasing the stable version for the same.
We captured some amazing features and functionality of Android 11 via. Its developer previews and in this article we would compare them with its elder sibling Android 10. So, without wasting any more time let’s boot into it.
Android 11 vs Android 10: The Battle Begins
1. Enhanced and Immersive Dark-Mode
We have seen a revolutionary change amongst mindsets of smartphone users as nowadays everyone wants to be on the dark side and prefer dark mode over the traditional, shiny, and punchy light mode. Dark mode got its own merits like increased battery life, less strain on eyes along with an added bonus of contrasting and minimal look.
If you prefer using a different style approach depending upon the time of the day similar to those movies in which you play the role of a corporate but as the day sets out you turn into a street fighter and you want to use your Android smartphone in similar approach then Android 11 got you covered with it’s “Scheduled Dark Mode” using this functionality you can easily command your smartphone to change its look depending upon the time of day or set timer.
2. Bubbling It Out
Most of you guys remember the chat bubble from Facebook Messanger, The pop-up bubble that floats over your smartphone screen showing off various active chat windows and you can dismiss it by holding it from the edge of the screen and then dragging and dropping it over the close button. This chat bubble feature posed some difficulties when used with gesture navigation on Android 10 devices as it featured ‘Swipe From Edge’ gesture for the previous window and while holding and dragging the chat bubble from the edge accidental activation of back gesture became way too common and thus leading to inconvenience.
But with the release of Android 11, Google is planning to make the use of chat bubble functionality more of a common practice by releasing an API for the same. Google has informed developers to start using the bubbles API, so once Android 11 ships, apps should be making use of the tool.
3. Only This Time
Google wants to buck-up the security department ever since its first stable release and with Android 10 we saw implication of a better permission menu, whenever an app asks for permission to utilize some system properties and location access, Android 10 allows you to choose from three options i.e. ‘Always Allow’, ‘Allow while using the app’, and ‘Deny’. This method of permission management gave the charge to the user instead of the app, but this is going to get even more dynamic and responsive with the addition of the “Only This Time” option into the permission menu that will strengthen the security department.
4. The Waving Hand
With the arrival of the Pixel 4 series, we saw the first-ever radar sensor on a smartphone. This sensor enabled the users to navigate through media playback without even physically touching the device, not only playback but it also enhanced the unlocking process as it was capable of automatically sensing that someone is around and about to unlock the device thus autonomously engaging the sensors to activate the unlocking process. With Android 11, Google wants to make use of this functionality in other departments as well.
5. Undoing The Swipe
If you ever swiped up the wrong app from the recent menu and regretted it afterward then Android 11 could become a life-saver for you, as recent developers preview of Android 11 included a feature in its recent menu that enables you to undo the accidental swipe-up from the recent menu.
As you remove an app from the recent menu, an undo button pops out simultaneously enabling you to reconstruct your mistake, This feature was not even thought for Android 10. This feature only works for a single app–the most recently dismissed app. Along with this, the Recents feature has been redesigned with larger app previews and new shortcuts including Screenshot and Share.
6. Dismiss The Ongoing Notification
Every app and operation wants some part of notification shade and this can be a headache sometimes. Although some notifications can be dismissed with a single swipe of finger while some of the ongoing notification brings out the real crap out of Android OS, this may include various notification from Hotspot, Setup guide, and Bluetooth sharing. You can’t get rid of these notification till Android 10, but Android 11 brought up a function that can help you to get rid of those notification thus making your notification shade crystal clear.
7. Availability Of Android 11
No official launch date has been released for Android 11 but Developers Preview of Android 11 started a month earlier as compared to Android 10 thus we can expect the release of Android 11 a month earlier than Android 10.
Although Google has announced that the ‘Beta 1’ version of Android 11 will be released on June 3rd,2020.
We expect the official release in the month of September, We will keep you guys updated around every minute detail regarding the upcoming flavor of most loved smartphone operating system. You can follow Tech Awareness on Twitter to get the latest updates and news with the speed of light.
This year Apple is going to launch the iPhone 12 5G models and it will be the first iPhone that will support 5G connectivity and now related to this 5G support one report related to the 5G speed which is provided by the different carriers.
According to the OpenSignal report, Speed that users will expect after getting the 5G signal will be different by the carrier. On Verizon 5G network that uses high-speed mmWave technology, shows the highest download speed. Verizon gave 506 Mbps speed that somewhat half than the gigabit. Even if the very short range of 5G signals will be available to the user then also they will be able to connect to it in AT&T delivered 62.7 Mbps speed.
iPhone 12 5G May Launch In September Or October
But one thing is also there regarding the availability of the different carrier, like Verizon’s 5G availability was only 0.9 % while for the T-Mobile it is 20 % and reason for the same is that T-Mobile’s 5G network uses the 600 MHz band which is high range as compared to the Verizon’s short-range mmWave network.
Last year in December, T-Mobile launched its nationwide 5G network and recently announced the expansion of coverage into other parts including the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, Calif, and Tampa and Orlando in Florida. If we talked about AT&T’s network, it operates on 850 MHz spectra, and availability is 9.7% which is better as compared to Verizon’s coverage range.
Afterall which network will be best suited for the upcoming iPhone 12 and when it will be available for the users we need to wait and see. There is also a possibility that this year’s production may get delayed by the company but reports from Apple said that there is no sign of delay in the production and it will launch in September and October, so we just have to wait and expecting that it will get available.
The trend of True Wireless Earbuds is at its peak as every tech-lifestyle brand is hoarding toward this consumer space. May can be announced as the month of TWS Earphones, a lot of brands have already proved their existence into the world of wireless music and it looks like Redmi is ready to push its luck as well.

Going by the international prices of Redmi’s TWS varies from 99 Yuan or $17 that converts around Rs.1,200 approx.
That was about the first-generation of Redmi AirDots but recently the Xiaomi’s subsidiary brand launched an upgraded beefed-up version of AirDots and coined it as AirDots S and we expect them to launch in India tomorrow. Let’s talk about this beefed-up version of Redmi AirDots in more detail.
These true wireless earbuds got an in-ear design similar to that of realme Buds Q and Samsung Buds with tilted silicon cushions for a cozy and comfortable fit. While the case of Redmi AirDots S is similar to its predecessor i.e. the case is elliptical in shape with a Micro-USB port for charging the case itself. The touch and feel of the case is textured with matt finishing.
Both case and buds are made out of polycarbonate to keep the weight as light as possible. Redmi AirDots weigh around 30gms with buds inside the case and buds itself weighs only 3gms.
Redmi AirDots S packs a 7.2mm dynamic audio driver that is quite amazing keeping in mind the price point at which one can buy them. It also integrates the functionality of voice assistant activation using touch controls that are unified inside both the earbuds and provides various functionalities like call accept or reject and options to change tracks.
Redmi also claims that Redmi AirDots S can last for 12 hours over cumulative usage along with battery case and standalone earbuds can give you more than 4 hours of audio playback.
This version of Redmi AirDots makes use of Realtek RTL8763BFR audio chip for better connection stability and lower latency rate. Redmi AirDots S makes use of Dual-Channel connection protocol instead of a master-slave or Single-Channel connection that was previously seen on Redmi AirDots. Redmi is also teasing a low-latency mode that will help all the gamers out there to hears the sound as they happen.
Redmi AirDots S is IP6X certified that signifies the fact that these earbuds are splash and sweat. A Digital Signal Processor is unified into the buds to reduce the environmental sounds during calls for a clearer and crisper interaction with your loved ones.
We expect them to launch at a price of Rs.1,699. You can watch the live streaming of the product launch over Redmi’s official social media handles and YouTube. You can follow Tech Awareness on Twitter to get the latest news and updates with the speed of light.

As I have tipped in my earlier post that realme will be launching four new products during the launch event scheduled for 25th May and we have already discussed everything about three of them in some earlier postings. Now, we talk about the “One More Surprise” as duped by realme officials.
The last product of the show will be a ‘Power Bank’, the power bank will act as the successor of realme Power Bank (10000mAh)that was launched back in September of 2019. The power bank was an instant hit because of its sleek design, Two-way charging capabilities, and support for charging laptops as well with a maximum output rating of 18W using ‘Type-C’ port.
This power bank was launched at a price of Rs.1,299 with three ravishing color options ‘Red, Yellow, and Grey’ but after some time a new ‘Classic Blue’ color was also added to the roaster. Personally, I am a big admirer of realme Power Bank because of handy form-factor, light-weight body, and amazingly sophisticated body. I own all four of them.
Realme seems to follow the same style philosophy with ‘Realme Power Bank 2’. Going by the teaser image shared by official twitter handles of realme and its official, this new generation of realme Power Bank will change the way we see a power bank. Realme Power Bank 2 will break the orthodox boxy design ideology associated with power banks as it got a really dope design.
Form-Factor and build quality look fairly similar to first-generation power banks. But instead of a textured plastic body, realme Power Bank 2 seems to pack a leather textured design making it a style statement rather than an ordinary power bank.
It will pack the same number of ports as previously seen on first-generation power banks i.e. a full-size USB Type-A port along with a Type-C port with support for fast-charging.
Words on the street pressurize the assumption that realme Power Bank 2 will pack support of ‘Super VOOC’ charging technology. Super VOOC is the charging methodology used by realme to enable fast charging capabilities on a device and currently, realme is the market leader when it comes to charging speed of devices with it’s ‘realme X50 Pro 5G’that is capable of charging the device within a span of 30 to 35 minutes with a maximum power output of 65W.
Although, the power output of realme power bank 2 is not yet revealed but we assume that it will come with a maximum output rating of 30W. The expected price of realme Power Bank 2 will be around Rs.1,799.
The launch event is scheduled for 25th May at 12:30 PM (IST) and you can watch the live stream via. All social media handles of realme and Youtube.
You can follow Tech Awareness on Twitter for latest information with the speed of light.
Realme was teasing the launch of ‘realme TV’ and ‘realme Watch’ for a long time but some rumors spread like fire stating that realme would be launching 2 more products on the same day and these rumors were confirmed when realme official revealed that realme is going to launch another product under true wireless earphones category.
Realme Buds is the moniker for the earphones and hands-free line-up by realme and currently, this product line-up contains four products focused on different consumer spaces. Two of the four audio devices are directed toward audience who loves wired earphones and those two products are duped as ‘realme Buds’ and ‘realme Buds 2’, realme buds is priced at Rs. 499 and is available in one color only while realme Buds 2 will cost you Rs.599 and is available in three colors ‘Black, Orange, and Green’.
The next product in this line-up was ‘realme Buds Wireless’ and the name itself explains a lot. Realme Buds Wireless marked realme’s entry into wireless audio space. Realme Buds Wireless is a ‘Neckband Style’ earphone with an 11.2mm dynamic bass audio driver with audio proficiencies tuned by realme’s Chief Music Officer non-other than Alan Walker himself. This neckband from the house of realme is priced at Rs.1,799 and is a steal deal at this price point. At the time of writing this article, I am using the same neckband in orange color with some 90’s songs playing in loops.
Realme Buds Air was the very first Truly Wireless Earphone from the tech giant. It got some great features like Environmental Noise Cancellation, Touch Controls, Voice Assistant, Great Battery Life, Custom R1 Chip with support for Low latency mode, and support for Wireless Charging.
This device is priced at Rs.3,999 and is available in three colors Black, Yellow and White but the twist here is that ever since its launch in December, ‘Yellow and Black’ colors of realme Buds Air were never made available for public purchase and whenever we asked them for availability, we got the same answer all the times ‘Stick to our social media handles’. Realme Buds Air was a great hit for realme in the audio category and now realme is ready to introduce younger brother of Realme Buds Air.
The new truly wireless earphones form is realme is duped as ‘realme Buds Air Neo’. This product is focused to seduce the younger generation with a slightly tight budget. Buds Air Neo is supposed to pack some similar features previously seen on Realme Buds Air like custom R1 chip with support for low latency gaming mode, similar design profile, touch controls, and instant pairing support as well.
But to grab a cut on pricing realme had to compromise some functionality as well. Realme Buds Air features ‘Type-C’ port for charging while realme Buds Air Neo will have a ‘Micro-USB’ port for charging with no support for wireless charging.
Realme Buds Air Neo got some pluses as well like a 13mm bass boost audio driver rather than 12mm dynamic driver seen on ‘realme Buds Air’. It will pack more than 17 hours of entertainment when coupled with charging case, while you can grab a playback time of more than 3 Hours over earbuds only. It will pack dual-channel transmission and Bluetooth 5.0 technology.
Realme Buds Air Neo will be made available to consumers in three funky colors Red, Green, and good old classic White. Keeping in mind all the available information we expect realme Buds Air Neo to launch around a price of Rs.3,000. The launch is scheduled for tomorrow along with realme TV and realme Watch and one more product. Let’s wait and watch.
