OS X Yosemite: Complete Features And Review: Apple releases OS X Yosemite for Mac user at WWDC 2014 in June while they also release iOS 8. Apple is trying to revamp there software part after Steve jobs as they already changes the feel of iOS and now on Mac as Mac receive major change after many years with overall design change. New Mac has receive new design elements like iOS 7 with light look and feel with some nice design. After changing names of OS X series from big cats to places inspired from California and this time Apple named there new OS Yosemite. OS X updates are enhancing the user experience without any difficult things as OS X is very simple OS with all features lying on the docks but there many more features which lies behind the curtain so OS X requires user some exploration to how to use the device.

• Yosemite is step ahead from last year upgrade of Mavericks. But numbering of Mac finally reaches tenth version as it bit complicated to remember which is new versions of OS as this version is numbers as 10.10 which is 11th installment from Apple. As Microsoft’s Windows is still lying behind Mac in many terms and there certain matter of debates but we are not here to see which feature either have as we are discussing Yosemite.

OS X Yosemite Design:

• Design is most eyes appealing part of OS X as new interface is taken the same design element of last’s year iOS 7. Whole interface is game of translucency and craftsmanship which nicely blend in a whole UI. There are some glassy texture and blurred effect has awesome experience.

  

• Major design change of icons, many new apps like Safari,Calendar,Contacts and so on also change. Dock also look good and menu bar looks nice.

OS X Yosemite Continuity:

• Continuity is main lime light feature of OS as continuity enhances the user experience with seamless relationship between iOS devices. As user can use ability of iMessage, FaceTime, Calls,Message,composing Mail seamlessly between both devices and much which really made this feature must to use if user have iOS devices.
• Continuity detect what going on iOS or Mac device and gives user Windows to same thing in either of these devices which you are not using. Continuity requires user to sign in with same ID so both devices get connect to each other.  As this become really success and major user are using these feature which simplifies overall time. So if user want to work on phone and then on Mac will now become easy. As Continuity is limited for some app but 3rd parties app can also take benefit as developer made apps.

  

• Handoff is another feature lies behind Continuity as it is applied for both Macs and iOS devices which help to uses all devices seamlessly without any issue. Handoff brings feature like while you composing mail in iPhone and want further composing on Mac can done easily as little icon near dock showing app using iPhone and by pressing it will open same work you are doing on the phone.
• Handoff will only when certain app are open which supports handoff iOS 8 user can see handoff app on the lock screen left side showing relevant apps you are using. User can also open it on multitasking Windows to work while surfing interface. Apple include certain API for developers to make there apps work in this feature.

  

• Continuity also add feature to AirDrop for enhancing so user can share data between iOS devices and Macs.
• While using this feature requires a connection between device both Bluetooth and Wifi works in background to run feature. Continuity is limited for user above iPhone 5 or later,iPad 4,iPod Touch 5th generation  and iPad Mini while for Mac requires Mac having Bluetooth version 4.

OS X Yosemite Finder:

• Finder get new design change with some effects also get support to find files in iCloud Drive. Now user can search there files which is lies behind online data finder get ability to find it. It also shows specific files inside Pages, Numbers and other lies inside it.

  

OS X Yosemite Dock:

• Dock also get same design elements also come way back to a rectangular bar showing apps. But there not more significant changes occur option are still same with more design. There is one extra space for apps of Continuity which showing which devices is running which apps.

• Buttons on the Windows more likely looks like traffic light and get around over whole UI as OS X lost it’s old metallic and glassy look while now it becomes more glossy and red,yellow and green. • Spotlight search is best way of searching things inside your Mac as it now becomes faster and snappier for searches. Spotlight search is located top bar with sign of magnifying glass. While earlier the spotlight search interface lies top above but now use can use it middle of screen.

• iTunes is one of favorite music app for all as it also include music store itself so user can purchase things on the iTunes and download it without any issue. As iTunes has sold many of songs,movies and TVs shows which is easy to purchase and easiest to use.
• iTunes in Yosemite finally changes it’s overall looks and also comes with some new feature. New iTunes receives overhaul design change with new icon looks amazing. There certain things looks good as new album view and colors at the menu matches album art is breathtaking there separate view for Artists and Album.

  

• iTines is made easy to navigate all around UI with very fine detail showing showing icons of video,music,tv programs,podcast and more which is easy to use. User can edit which menu icon they want to use and can remove which they don’t wanted.

• Safari is now becoming most popular browser for Apple user as it start supporting things which they previously rejects. So Safari is very speedy than any other browser as from benchmarks showing Safari is far more better.
• Yosemite adds Safari version 9 which has features like mute audio of tabs also new content viewing option showing only rich content for Safari reader. In addition it include new design change,new icon,improvement to privacy and security.

As Yosemite update is feels like a plane while Mavericks gives some 3D feel with some metallic looks is awesome.
