WiFi 6 is here so you should need a new router to connect faster speed than expected. Orbi has announced a new set of mesh router which costs around $699.99. We are at IFA 2019 and we are getting a new device and device category. Orbi mesh router has a mind-blowing feature which gives the edge to edge other routers, calling it the “ultimate whole-home wireless network” for multi-gigabit dwellings.
Orbi is featuring a WiFi 6 router boasts four times the network capacity of Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) solutions. It does this by maintaining the 4×4 wireless backhaul of the previous gen. Orbi router, but bumps it to Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) for the theoretical link of 2.4 Gbps compared to 1.73 Gbps on the older Orbi RBK50. The system was first teased at CES in January.
One of the practical facts of using this device is that the Wi-Fi 6 which it offers required Wi-Fi 6 device to show its full capability and we have seen only a few devices to feature Wi-Fi 6. Some gaming laptop release this year has Wi-Fi 6 so the user can use the device with lightning-fast speed. The package includes one RBR850 Wi-Fi router and one RBS850 satellite to cover six or more rooms with “fast Wi-Fi” in a 5,000-square-foot home, according to Netgear. You get 8 gigabit Ethernet LAN ports in total (four each on the router and satellite) and a 2.5Gbps WAN port for anyone lucky enough to have a service provider that can take full advantage of it. Netgear claims that its new mesh router can handle 20 streams at once and support more than 100 connected devices.
The device will be available for order now and will be available for September 30th. So have you enjoyed this article join us for more awesome content.
