At CES 2018 the Intel and AMD have revealed the Intel Core i5 and i7 chips powered by AMD Radeon Rx Vega M GPUs. It is the first time when Intel and AMD have made a processor in collaboration.
Being rivals for a long time, Intel and AMD announced in November 2017 that they are working together to make chips laptop and desktop left the computing world shocked. As a result of their collaboration, we will have Intel’s Core Processor with AMD’s Radeon Graphics.
These new chipsets fall into the H-series line of eight – Generation Core Processor. with the help of EMIB technology, Intel and AMD have successfully integrated the Radeon Rx Vega M GPU with Core i5/i7 CPUs. It also has 4GB HMB2 RAM support that is going to save space internally inside the laptops as it is almost 50% smaller.
At CES 2018, it has been said by the companies that they have two sets variants of the chip. One is for the laptops and another one is for desktops. The first one which is for laptops is an 8th Gen Intel Core i5/i7 with Radeon Rx Vega MGL Graphics 65W total package power while the second one is for the desktops which are more powerful chip – the 8th Gen Core i7 processor with Radeon Rx Vega MGH Graphics and 100W.
