On January 6, at CES 2020 Incipio eco-friendly phone cases were launched, which is based on compostable plant. It is great that instead of plastic cases world can have such eco-friendly cases, but it is not the first time that any company is bringing such cases.
Before that some smaller companies have already made cases from stake boards, wood, flax straw, bamboo, cork, and recycled plastic fishing nets also been used for making cases. Case brand like Zagg has made cases from a recycled water bottle.
Incipio Eco-friendly Phone Cases Breakdown In 6 Months On An Industrial Compost Setting:
After the initiative of Incipio, it seems that these types of cases may take their places in the mainstream. Plant material called as Organicore is used for making Incipio’s new eco-friendly cases. This substance Organicore is expected to a breakdown in six months in an industrial compost setting.
Along with the cases, packaging of these cases is also made up of substances that can be recyclable and if we talk about ink, then it is again environmental friendly as it is water-based. These eco-friendly cases are available in the market at a cost of $39.99. These cases are designed for Apple iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.
Different color options are available including black, deep pine, green, stone gray, and oatmeal beige. These cases can withstand a six-foot drop to provide protection. These cases can also support wireless charging as well. After these cases, Incipio’s next plan is to make these types of compostable cases for other products like tablets, other smartphones, and AirPods later this year.
