And the Nokia’s new phones are a departure from the old ones in one very important way that the gone is the Windows & the hailing is the New Android Devices.
Nokia Is Back With Its Android Series Phones: Nokia 3, 5 & 6:
Nokia is here with some of its low-end phones that will be running on Android & may come with some high ended phones too in the future. We have already told you about the very trending topic & handset from Nokia i.e. Nokia 3310 in the earlier post. So let’s talk about all the new Nokia 3, 5 & 6 one by one:
The Nokia 3:
The Nokia 3 is a 5 inch featured device which is powered by MediaTek 6737 processor (quad-core 1.3GHz chip) which sports a 2GB of RAM with 16 GB of internal memory. Also, the phone offers to have an expandable memory with a microSD support. Since it is at the bottom most rung of the New Nokia Smartphone lineup you can’t expect it to be a powerhouse phone. Featuring an IPS LCD display with a 1280 x 720 i.e 294 pixels of resolution, the phone is quite good in its series also having a camera of 8MP both on the front & at the back.
The phone has been designed into two parts: an aluminum unibody frame & the back plate with polycarbonate. Coming into the markets with most loved color combinations i.e silver-white, black, dark blue & a sexy copper frame with a white back. Below the screen, there are three capacitive navigation buttons under the display for easy go through.
While talking about the Software, the phone will be running on Android v7.0 Nougat. The camera app whereas is “pure” Android while using the same launcher as the Pixel phones. The phone is not very bulky since it measures about 8.48 mm in thickness & it is packed with a Cat.4 LTE radio having a battery backup capacity of 2650 mAh. When seeing up the price for the phone which is just $147, you might not regret the unavailability of the USB-Type C port in place of which the Micro USB port is embedded.
The Nokia 5:
The Nokia 5 is above the Nokia 3 in most aspects as it features a bit larger & powerful specs. It has a 5.2 inches of IPS display having a resolution of 1280 x 720 i.e 282 pixels. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset having a RAM of 2GB with 16 GB internal memory expandable through microSD support, the phone also offers the Cat.4 LTE support like the Nokia 3. The rear camera over here with Nokia 5 has been upgraded which will jump up to 13 MP. The battery capacity has also seen an upgrade due to the increased display size as well & that is of 3000 mAh.
The limiting factor for the USB Type-C port continues with this handset too which has the Micro USB port but the Nokia 5 has a fingerprint sensor that sits right at the front & centered below the display which takes the place of the home button. Though it also has the capacitive back & multitasking buttons on to it. Designed in a single piece of machined aluminum which comes in silver, black, dark blue & copper variants, although all of them are having a black glass front with slightly curved edges.
As you all might be knowing, while it’s always hard to do a machined aluminum phone without making it look like an iPhone, HMD has made the Nokia 5’s antenna cutouts along the top and bottom of the phone. The phone is priced at $200 with such great features from a Nokia brand.
The Nokia 6:
Among all of the three Android devices announced at the MWC by HMD with Nokia brand name, the Nokia 6 lies at the top position in the list. This phone was earlier released in China in Jan 2017 but it is now making its global debut. The phone runs on Snapdragon 430 processor with 3GB of RAM & also have a 32GB of internal storage drive with expansion options through microSD support. This feature phone is having 5.5 inches of laminated IPS LCD panel with a full HD 1920 x 1080 of resolution.
The camera over here has been bumped up to 16MP at the rear alongside with a dual tone LED flash has been offered. While talking about the design of the phone, the machined 6000-series aluminum body is simply beautiful and solidly built, as one would imagine once the name Nokia has been associated with the device. The bottom mounted fingerprint sensor flanking the capacitive navigation buttons & antenna cutouts at the very edges, are the same as that of the Nokia 5. This power packed high ended device is priced at $245, which seems quite good for such configuration.
Special Edition: Nokia 6 Arte Black:
If you are a true Nokia lover & like the black aluminum finish of the device then you’ll want Arte Black edition of the phone. For it to look better the company had taken the aluminum body and polished it five times over and then anodized it black twice. Also, the RAM has been upgraded to 4GB and the internal storage to 64GB. Otherwise, it’s the same phone, just a shiny black fingerprint magnet. Let’s see whether this addition to the phone will be able to attract more users this time or not.
