Google announced debut of ‘Camera Go’ a lighter version of Google’s renowned camera app. This app is specifically developed keeping in mind the requirements of users running ‘Android Go’ operating system.

Android Go operating system is based on the regular version of Android but it’s optimized to run on smartphones with 512 MB to 1 GB of RAM. The first version of Android Go was modeled on Android Oreo, but the latest iteration is based on Android 10. Android Go takes up less space than the regular Android version, giving smartphones with low storage the sentient scope to hold more media and apps out of the box most Android Go smartphones come with 8 or 16 GB of storage.

Nokia 1.3 is the very first device to have this new app on board. It was recently announced by HMD Global.  Some brief specification of the device are as follows. It packs an IPS LCD panel of 81.4cm or 5.71 inches in HD+ resolution running on Qualcomm QM215 chipset fabricated on 28nm processing method with 3000mAh of battery. The device will run on Android 10 Go edition out of the box. It houses a 8MP shooter at rear end while packing a 5MP sensor as front facing camera. These specs may not look pleasing in the first glimpse but we have to keep in mind that this device is only meant for the users looking for an entry level smartphone to initiate their journey into the world of smartphones.

Android Go now have more than 100 million active monthly users. Camera Go is not just a makeshift app on top of an Operating System instead it is deeply rooted into devices camera module and hence allowing users to capture portrait shots/Bokeh shots even without a depth sensor or secondary camera.

The interface of the app is very similar to the native camera app provided by Google in which you can navigate through various mode just by swiping over the secluded icons on the screen. This app not only captures images but also keeps track of your captured images and storage being consumed by them and thus optimizing your next shot so that the warning doesn’t pop-up every time you try to capture something you love. It also facilitates the user to have a preview of the captured image and edit it right away with edit and auto enhance feature.

Other Android Go devices will receive this camera app via. an OTA update in near future while it is not clear that other users running native android could download this app through playstore or not.
