Apple May Bring Wireless Charging For iPhone 8: Apple is now going to work with Energous – a wireless charging company. A partnership has formed between apple and Energous which is one of the leaders in wireless charging industry. Apple is actively working on a long – range wireless charging method for future iPhones.
Apple Is Focussing On Long Range Wireless Charging For Upcoming iPhone 8:
Energous took $10 million investment from Dialog semiconductor, a provider of the highly integrated power management chip. According to today’s report, “as much as three-quarters of Dialog’s business is with apple”, almost certainly signaling that the investment will affect Apple.
Energous CEO Steve Rizzone said in a statement that “the company is transferring all of its silicon operations to Dialog. All the Energies technology will be sold under the dialog branding and all sales orders will be going through Dialog. It will take us about 90 days to do all that”.
A WattUp technology developed by Energous offers a wire – free charging technology. WattUp sends energy safely through the air by using radio frequencies makes it able to deliver power in a way similar to a Wi-fi router. WattUp is able to charge devices from up to 15 feet away, using a transmitter.
Energous describe its technology as:
“WattUp RF-based charging can be integrated to provide wire-free charging to a wide variety of electronic devices such as cell phones, tablets, wearables, cameras, wireless keyboards and mice, headsets, sensors, LED lights, remote controls and toys… A Radio Frequency (RF) system, similar to a Wi-Fi system, delivers safe wire-free charging energy at a distance of up to approximately 15ft from a transmitter to a receiver device, such as a mobile phone, and maintains charging while the receiver is in motion. Up to 12 receiver devices can be managed by the system simultaneously, depending on system specifications”.
From the Energous statement, it seems that Energous was working with one of the top consumer electronics company in the world in order to integrate its WattUp technology into consumer devices.
Further, it was assumed that Apple is working with Energous to placing its WattUp RF charging technology inside iPhone. However, Energous denied all those reports…
There are many reasons which show that Energous partnership with Dialog is convincing.
- First may be that as in Energon’s business, Apple makes up a large portion, it is likely that Apple will have benefit from the deal.
- Further, energies without Dialog would not be able to supply its technology to Apple.
- With the upcoming iPhones, wireless charging and partnership between Dialog and Enegous are one of a changes rumors coming.
