Panasonic Announces Amazon Alexa & Google Assistant In Infotainment System For Cars

At CES 2018, Panasonic made an announcement that it has worked with Google and Amazon to create a new automotive infotainment system. The Japanese electronic Panasonic in collaboration with Amazon and Google will bring the Alexa Digital Assistant with the advanced Google-powered system that was launched last year with Android N to Android O.

                            

With introducing amazon Alexa in-car system it will let the users have access to the functions including media, navigation, and communication of car by simply giving the voice command. Additionally, there are also some functions o Alexa that can be used without the internet connection by using Alexa onboard technology.

The President of Panasonic Corporation of North America has said that “When drivers have access to familiar Alexa contextual commands and responses from inside the car, it opens up a new world of experiences OEMs can offer – enabling some of these capabilities even without an internet connection is revolutionary”.

It was also announced by the automotive division of Panasonic that its Android-powered Skip Gen IVI platform has now been updated to Android 8.1 Oreo, that is providing the system Google Assistant capability. The Head of the Partner Engineering, Google North America, Gene Karshenboym, has shown the functioning of Assistant over voice command such as navigation by using Google map and playing music. This collaboration of Panasonic with Amazon and Google will give the best user experience in using car infotainment system.
