According to DigiTimes, Taiwan’s Advanced Semiconductor Engineering will provide antenna-in-package technology for the upcoming iPads along with the 5G iPhones.

So far it is assumed that the Apple iPad Pro 5G will be high-end models that possibly costlier than other models. Already there are reports that suggest 5G iPhones will come in 2020 but there is no clarity about the 5G iPads. The 5G iPads may be featured with mmWave that will provide ultra-fast speed at short distances, that will be more suitable for dense urban areas. Sub-6GHz 5G is usually slower than mmWave but the advantage is that signals travel further, which is suitable for suburban and rural areas.
If we see the general trends then it’s like major new features first come in iPhones than later in iPads but there was the exception in that case and the third-gen iPad got LTE support in March 2012 and then it came in iPhone 5 in September 2012.
