PIxelbook Go Announcement at Pixel Event 2019

Google Pixel event is simply amazing as we have seen many devices from Google on which they working but still some of the expected device was missing in the event. One of the eye-catching stuff in the event was Google Pixelbook Go.

This is almost Google’s third time to implement a laptop but they still not able to make clear what they really want to put through. We have recently seen Microsoft Surface devices from Surface Laptop, Surface Pro’s and all these devices are built for specific use cases but when we compare these devices along with Pixelbook it start to lags in every aspect where it stands.

This is not really the fault of the device but Google is responsible to made this device and it seems like they still not clear where to put this device as talking about first Pixel book it is and Touch Screen laptop which can be foldable for writing to any kind of doodle, while second approach is Google Pixel Slate which not able to make any dent to market as it more costly and does less as compared with competitions, now this time Google again jump back to clamshell design rather than making it 2-in-1. These rapid changes in design lure away the user to think about this device and what it can do. Now let’s talk about other features of the device one by one.

Google Personal Touch Design

PixelBook Go is designed to be a lighter as the device is made with magnesium rather than using aluminum because magnesium provides the same amount of toughness with less material required. The Go has a larger screen (13.3 inches), but it’s lighter (2.4 pounds), because of magnesium chassis. Google’s product team took me through what’s new, and why a more comfortable laptop experience was the most important goal this time around.

Google is trying to keep the ergonomics of the device best as possible as they are promising that Pixelbook Go give better typing experience, the new keyboard is designed to feel better than they already pretty good Pixelbook keys, and quieter. The touchpad of the device becomes larger but the gesture system of the device still lagging behind Windows or macOS.

The color scheme of the device will arrive in two variant black and “not pink” which match last year Pixel 3.

Moving future for connectivity stills lagging

Pixelbook Go sports two USB-C ports which offer a 2-hour boost in 20 minutes so you can catch day to day work without spotting. USB-C support allows room for more possibilities as USB can now connect Displays, Hard Drives, Flash Drives and much more. USB-C is provided on both sides of the device so the user can easily charge the device without any issue.

The larger battery should last longer than those of previous Pixelbooks, too, 12 hours on a full charge according to Google. One thing which Google can include an extendable option by providing a place to plug microSD or SD card which helps the user to carry data on the device more convenient than ever and increase the space of the device.

Specs option high still behind

Pixelbook Go starts from $649 for Intel Core M3 eighth-gen processor which is decent but lags behind from other competitor’s CPU. While as the price increase there is an option to opt for Core i5 and Core i7 which make the price of the device whopping approx. $1399 with 256GB SSD and 16GB RAM. There’s a 4K display upgrade, too, which also costs extra.

Google made the device security powered with the Titan-C security chip which was the same as last year’s Titan M chip in Google Pixel 3, which provides device protection while the user is using it.

Pixelbooks are having good hardware but the amount of software used on the device really made these specs upgrade a waste as many applications like Microsoft’s Office PC: Edition, Adobe Desktop, and various other professional applications won’t work on the device. While Google making an approach to support its own Office apps to work on the device natively while Android Studio now also supports Chromebook with some configuration condition works seamlessly on the device.

So these are some features of Google Pixelbook Go about that you should be aware, Pre-Orders also get started and device will be shipped by 28 Oct.
