Other brands like Realme had tried to overshadow, Redmi Note 8 Pro by unofficially announcing there 64 MP camera devices but the game took another twist when Redmi (a sub-brand of Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi) officially launched Redmi Note 8 Pro, The device features a 64 MP Primary camera and became the world’s first smartphone with 64 MP camera and a quad-camera setup.

Display And Design

Even though the main highlight of this smartphone is the camera, Brand took care of all the other aspects as well. When we talk about display, the device features a 6.53 inches Full HD+, LCD Display with a very thin bezel at the bottom also known as chin measuring 4.2mm in size, This massive display is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass to protect it from scratches and other damages

As the display is not an OLED display there was no chance of getting any kind of Under-Display fingerprint scanner. So, The brand moved the fingerprint scanner in the center of rear panel, where it is followed by an unusual camera setup where three-camera are aligned vertically above the fingerprint scanner and the fourth one is aligned on the right side of the fingerprint scanner and just below the LED flashlight. This seems to be a very innovative design for a quad-camera setup. It is also the major difference between the two brothers launched in the Note 8 Series, Younger brother i.e. Redmi Note 8 feature quad-camera setup, But camera are aligned vertically one below the other and the whole setup is placed rest’s on the top left corner of the device. The rear panel is made out of glass and looks very glossy and premium and is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, Gives it an edge over its competitors.

Now, Coming to the biggest selling point of the device i.e. Camera. Redmi Note 8 Pro features and quad-camera setup on the rear side where the primary camera is a 64 MP shooter powered by ISOCELL bright GW1 from the house of Samsung. This 64 MP beast is accompanied by 3 more camera with the following specification, 8 MP Ultra-Wide Lens with a 119-degree field of view along with a 2 MP depth sensor and a 2 MP dedicated Macro Lens that will help you in taking amazing close-up shots. Coming to the front camera, The device features a 20 MP front camera tucked into the waterdrop notch (Top Notch as named by Xiaomi) with plenty of AI-Based features such as scene recognition and beauty mode as well.

Battery And Performance

Now let’s focus on the aspect of performance. The device is built with a gene of gaming as this 64 MP camera beast is powered by the heart of a gaming beast i.e. MediaTek Helio G90T, This chipset is one of the latest SoC from the house of MediaTek built with a gaming DNA. The chipset is built to deliver extensive gaming while intelligently managing the battery. When the chipset goes hand in hand with 6/8 GB of RAM along with 4,500 mAh of battery with support of 18 Watt fast charging.

The major upgrade over Redmi Note 7 Pro is you can find the support of liquid cooling due to which you can perform extensive tasks without the worry of your device becoming a ball of fire. There is one more feature that may go out of notice while talking about this device i.e. Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with a feature with help of which you can connect to Wi-Fi and 4G simultaneously. The device is splash-proof as it comes with P2i coating.

Drawbacks

You will agree with us that, The device is a beast and a killer in its league and outperform any other device in the market within its price bracket. The major drawback is not from the field of hardware, but the bad news comes from the software end. The device is running on MIUI 10 i.e. a custom skin from the house of Xiaomi. We all are aware of the Advertisements in there MIUI this may not affect all of the user community but it may be taken in consideration when you are switching from any other brand to Redmi it may cut your heart a little. Other than this we were not able to find any other drawback in newly launched Redmi Note 8 Pro. Device aslo feature a World of Warcraft Edition.

Redmi Note 8 Pro will feature 3 colors i.e. Black, Green, White and will go live for sale in September. Pricing of the beast is quite competitive. You have to pay about Rs.14,500 to 15,000 (CNY 1,399/ $195) for 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of ROM, While you have to spend Rs.18,500 to 19,000 ($250/ CNY 1,799) for the 8 GB RAM and 128 GB of storage variant.
